[player_tooltip player_id='951657' first='Tenley' last='Levin'] debuts as the #1 rated player out of the 2029 Class in Iowa. Levin comes to us from Solon High School and she competes as a CG/SF at this time. Levin's natural position is a CG with her mix of length and guard like ability but she is one of the taller player on her high school team so she gets the nod to attack from the Forward position a good amount of the time right now. Over the years that will need to change though as Levin is not a Forward at a D1 level but she is a CG or SG. She already possesses ample skill as an offensive threat, while being someone that can lock down her matchups on defense. Not to mention, she currently has a nifty go-to spin move once she gets into the teeth of the defense off the drive. If she can build on that, along with her other abilities, she should continue to be the #1 ranked player out of this Class moving forward. She is one of the only individuals receiving interest from numerous D1 programs at this time and I don't expect that to slow down anytime soon.

Another hooper with a superior mixture of size and skill is [player_tooltip player_id='1201513' first='Ali' last='Aguirre'] of Ankeny High School and [program_tooltip program_id='712377' first='All' last='Iowa Attack'] EYBL AAU. Aguirre comes into her Freshman season as a 6'1 handful. She is currently a mismatch problem for opposing teams when used in the correct ways by her coaching staff. Whenever you have a bigger and more physical or athletic player, most coaches just shove them into the Post, ultimately hindering their evolution as a future college prospect. Offensively, Aguirre can dominate down low and she should be used in those ways when applicable but she can also step out to screen and seal to the hoop or she can pop for an open look with her jumper when she has space. When you combined all that and understand that this is only a Freshman, you start to see the promise moving into the future and that's why Aguirre sits at #2 in this Update.

[player_tooltip player_id='1201510' first='Grace' last='McCann'] sneaking into this Top Five to start off might surprise some people that haven't seen her in her element yet but the reality is that McCann can play and just like her sister - she possesses that "it" factor. McCann is a 5'8 guard, who is extremely efficient and well-rounded overall as a player. She has a fundamental handle while she tends to play off of two feet and she happens to be a top-notch communicator to those around her with what is happening on the floor. Just like all of these players, McCann's evolution over the next three years will be the key to her future success but for now, she is in a great spot moving into 2026.

We are very high on [player_tooltip player_id='1169794' first='Emma' last='Ryder'] to start off her high school career and it's for good season. Ryder plays with a chip on her shoulder, she is a monster under the bucket on both blocks as a producer, and she already has that height that college coaches love to work with. Ryder has been holding it down to start her Freshman season with Ottumwa. She is posting big PPG numbers, she is rebounding enough on both ends for her team as a whole, and she is learning situational basketball as she grows with her Varsity experience. Ryder is going to be a big name over the next 3.5 years. She will always show up for this group each night and that's no surprise. She is even the type that can step out already at 6'1 and bang some deep three's off the catch so opposing teams have to stop her first they want to have success against Ottumwa. If not, it's going to be a long night against the Bulldogs.

If you want to talk about the most skilled pound-for-pound player out of this 2029 Class right now, it's [player_tooltip player_id='1238114' first='Quinn' last='Sievers'] from Newell-Fonda High School. We have to give credit where it is due and it's possible that Sievers is the type of guard that could end up as the #1 overall player out of this 2029 Class in 3-4 years if she keeps getting better and better. Not only is Sievers a skilled hooper, she is a play-maker and someone that is NOT afraid of the moment. She is willing to compete against anyone at anytime and that speaks to the Will she brings onto the floor whenever she laces up her kicks. Sievers has had a respectable start to this Winter season for the Mustangs but we need to see a little more as we move into 2026. This Class is one that is loaded with promising talent so if everyone wants to hold their current ranking they have to continue to show-up when it matters against real competition on the high school floor so we will see where things go from here.
