The Wildcats are my clear favorite to come out of Region 2 and are also my pick to repeat as Class B champions in 2026. They return three superstars in [player_tooltip player_id='469472' first='Aubrey' last='Kenner'], [player_tooltip player_id='1104818' first='Kaitlyn' last='Maddock'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1104817' first='Lacie' last='Fautsch']. Kenner is an All-State returning guard who just signed to play college hoops at University of Mary. She is a lock for another strong season. Maddock is one of the best true point guards in all of Class B. She is a steady second scoring option but also is an outstanding defender. Fautsch is a true post and does a great job at utilizing her strength for positioning around the basket. She could end up averaging a double-double this season. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1125135' first='Addisyn' last='Faul'] is a future All-Region player. The young talent is a tough competitor and key contributor for the Wildcats. [player_tooltip player_id='1104816' first='Ella' last='Fossen'], Isabella Engstrom, Delaynee Scwanke, and Brylee Stuberg are all names to remember. This is an extremely talented squad and will be very hard to beat.

2 - Langdon Area-Munich

The Langdon Area-Munich Cardinals surprised a lot of people with their post season run last season, winning their district, region, and the consolation bracket at the state tournament. This was all in spite of losing their best player, [player_tooltip player_id='1124636' first='Avery' last='Lorenz'], to a knee injury in the region title game. I am unsure of her timeline but am hopeful she will be available at the beginning of this season. She is one of the best players in the 2029 class and is a high-level recruit. The Cardinals also return All-District selections [player_tooltip player_id='1124637' first='Hilary' last='Haaven'] and Aubree Badding. Haaven is an excellent point guard and another talented young prospect. Badding is a terrific defender and also has great vision with her passing. Look for Erika Bakke and [player_tooltip player_id='1251660' first='Kemi' last='Morstad'] to be key role players this season. Langdon also has a handful of incoming 8th graders that earned some varsity minutes last season as 7th graders. Keep an eye on Ary Schaefer, Hallie Overby, and Chloe Coons. This squad is certainly young, but very talented. They should have a big year.

Head Coach Jonathan Berg enters his 12th season at the lead of the Park River/Fordville-Lankin Aggies. His team had a good season last year, finishing at 16-7 and placing 2nd place in District 3. He is hoping that after a good summer his squad will be able to take the next step and get to the state tournament this season. He returns All-Region selection [player_tooltip player_id='1097368' first='Lauren' last='Bell']. The 5'10 junior has college potential written all over her. She is a premier athlete and will have another great season in 25-26. Fellow Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1097367' first='Lily' last='Skibicki'] is an All-District returner and the Aggies second-leading returning scorer. She will have a chance to increase her production and average double figures this season. Seniors [player_tooltip player_id='1097386' first='Allison' last='Gudmundson'], Molley Moen, and [player_tooltip player_id='1097383' first='Nora' last='Wharam'] will also be asked to improve their scoring if this team is going to reach their potential. Freshman Charely Moen got into a handful of varsity games last season and will be eager to carve out a role on this squad.
