She opened the event with 18 points, 7 assists, and 4 steals in Game 1, followed by a balanced performance of 16 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals in Game 2.
I don't think any player in the state is off to a better start than Berea committ [player_tooltip player_id='893937' first='Kaitlyn' last='Huggins']. She has been an absolute double-double machine through the first three games of the season, opening with 20 points and 20 rebounds against Nelson County, erupting for 25 points and 29 rebounds against Bullitt East, and following it up with 23 points and 22 rebounds versus McLean County. Despite Huggins' monster production, the Lady Bruins sit at 1–4 and will look to regroup at home on Wednesday in a matchup against Thomas Nelson.

Taylor County is off to a 2–0 start, opening the season with a pair of dominant wins. Leading the charge is their fabulous freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1050025' first='Kennedy' last='Deener'], who has been nothing short of electric. She opened the year with 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 steals against Marion County, then followed it up with a staggering 43 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assists in a breakout performance against Central. The Lady Cardinals will look to keep the momentum rolling as they hit the road for a two-game stretch against Wayne County and Campbellsville.

McKaila is showing exactly why she's considered one of the top sophomore forwards in the state. She is averaging 14 points and a team-leading 6.3 rebounds per game, and is fresh off her best performance of the season, a dominant 30-point, 10-rebound outing in a 68–58 win over West Jessamine. Southwestern is off to a strong 3–0 start, and they'll face their toughest early-season test on Friday when they host South Laurel.

Sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='963594' first='Greyson' last='Luehrs'] is playing like she has something to prove early in the 2025–2026 season, leading North Oldham in scoring at 15.7 points per game and already surpassing 100 career made threes. She delivered a breakout performance against Apollo in the third game of the season, proving she can be the Lady Mustangs' go-to offensive option by finishing with 26 points, 5 steals, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. North Oldham sits at 2–1 and will host Owen County tonight before beginning a three-game road stretch.
