( Don't get me wrong, I know the lake life is remarkable around there.) Real talk, when you talk with opposing coaches, they hate getting a team from the plateau to play. They are just built differently up there. Scrappy possesses a tremendous work ethic. They may not be flashy, but they will find ways to grind out wins and play team basketball.   Each year, the plateau is well represented deep into state contention. They breed winning basketball around there, and it shows throughout the high school ranks all the way down to the elementary levels. These kids compete and give it all they have in every contest.   When thinking about this area, the kids just stand out from their unselfish play and their will to get it done. I know I featured some talented kids in my last article; however, I couldn't stop there, as more Upper Cumberland kids came to mind.   Check out some solid ball players who hail from the UC area.    Physical, plays with power; she is a force inside the arc. This kid knows how to utilize her body to get favorable shot attempts. She is strong, mighty, need I say more? She can put the ball in the net, play tough on the defensive end, and really impact the game. Any opponent who faces her, good luck, as she is going to bring the physicality to the party. A tremendous ballplayer who gives her team an edge.     A dynamic ballplayer who is a fantastic creator. She can score from all-three levels, but what impresses me more is how she gets her teammates involved. She can take her girl off the dribble or spot up along the arc and knock down the 3-ball at a high clip. She is heading to TN Tech next year, where she will surely add athleticism to their roster. This kid is solid on both ends of the floor and will look to lead Pickett Co. back to state contention this season.     A dynamic ballplayer who is a fantastic creator. She controls the painted area. Offensively, she will finish through contact and create second-chance opportunities. I love her footwork she displays around the blocks. Defensively, she is going to hold it down in the low post area, making it hard for opponents to operate, controlling the boards. She is a talented kid who impacts the Dragonettes ballclub. Look for her to be tough and physical down low as they compete and get back to the state this season.     Shifty guard who can fill it up. She is a heady floor general who commands the offense. She can get past her defender to get to the rim or unleash a nice mid-range jumper. She keeps her head on a swivel and drops dimes at a moment's notice. She is a tough defender, scrappy, and plays with an edge. She gives this Warriorette team a lot of confidence anytime she is on the floor. A true ballplayer who plays with a lot of grit.     The Johnson University signee is a true warrior. A kid who has battled back and fights tooth and nail anytime she is on the floor, she is a solid off ball threat anytime she is on the floor. She can score it from the arc and finish around the rim; however, the way she hustles, communicates, really helps elevate her ball call. She contributes in multiple ways, but when she is present, you better believe she will be a difference-maker. A hardworking kid who is going to find a way to impact a game in more ways than one.
