Here are a couple of scouting reports from Tuesday night. The prospects below were all standouts for their Varsity team in whatever game they played and they are hoping to build onto that moving into the rest of the week.

[player_tooltip player_id='883553' first='Quinn' last='Pershing'] of Mount Vernon High School is known as a three point specialist to those who know her actual play-style but the past two games she has been shining as someone that has been consistently stepping up for the Mustangs in a number of different ways. On Tuesday night Pershing had a team high 22 points to help her squad beat Benton. Along with recording a few other positive stats. The Mustangs are not the same team they were last year but they do return some very capable prospects. If players like Pershing continue to step up like this and everyone does their job, they should have a solid chance to make it back to the State Tournament in a few months.

[player_tooltip player_id='510277' first='Izzy' last='Eisbach'] tied a career high on Tuesday night when Nodaway Valley recorded the first win of their season against Lenox High School. Eisbach ended with 51 total points while the rest of her team scored 26 to give them a total of 77. These buckets came from all three levels and in the boat-load but that isn't a surprise. We predicted that Eisbach would crack 60 at least once this Winter so it's promising to see a 50-ball this early on. Remember, this is the prospect who led the state in PPG last Winter throughout Iowa with over 30. When you give her space, she can fill it up in a hurry and that's what we saw in this one first-hand.

Keokuk fell short against Pella yesterday but that didn't stop [player_tooltip player_id='560333' first='Kendra' last='Boatman'] from putting on an impressive scoring performance offensively. Boatman ended the contest with a game-high 33 points and she was doing it all. She was hitting shots from deep, posting up in the midrange and attacking, and she got to the bucket a few times too. This game was a close battle to start off. Pella only led by 8 at the half but they stacked onto that in the third and fourth quarters with their depth. That was the biggest issue for Keokuk. They just didn't have the bodies so Boatman did what she could to try and keep them in it throughout. We are going to hear about Boatman a few more times before she graduates. She is a good hooper, who will continue to put up numbers this Winter for the Chiefs.

It's impossible to replace someone like Center - Amani Jenkins from last Winter but [player_tooltip player_id='766304' first='Paige' last='Andernacht'] is playing some pretty good ball right now on both ends of the floor for the Dragons. Andernacht is making the most of her play in the middle. She is converting open attempts and making smart choices whenever the ball is put into her hands. Which, as a coach, is all you can ask for. Andernacht finished with 12 point on Tuesday night. Not a crazy number but respectable. The best part of these buckets was their timing. She scored a majority of these when time was winding down or when her team need something at the rim. Everyone thought Johnston would have a tough Winter coming into the season, including me but by the looks of it they might be on pace to run it back again for a third straight season. They will have some tough battles in the way before Playoffs so who knows. We will just have to see.

Waukee notched their first win of the Winter season on Tuesday night with a 11 point win over SE Polk. In this outing, the standout for the Warriors was 2028 SG - [player_tooltip player_id='884847' first='Olivia' last='Baker']. Baker was feeling herself from the tip-off of this one. She finished with a team high 18 points on 7-11 shooting, including 4-6 from behind the three point line, and she recorded 8 rebounds. I know a few directors and recruiters that like the potential that Baker brings to the floor. It's nice to see that she is proving all of those people right to kick-off her Sophomore campaign. Waukee has the pieces to be a dangerous team down the line. They need to play to their strengths and continue to build on what they have in place. If they do that, they might be a group you don't want to see come Playoff time.
