Several teams in the 4 Tha Culture MLK Edition Classic featured highly ranked national players being recruited by a number of Power Four schools like [player_tooltip player_id='991134' first='Carib' last='Morris'], Jayden McClain, and [player_tooltip player_id='899789' first='Morghan' last='Reckley']. All three players made it clear why they are ranked as high as they are with their play over the course of the two day event. Each of the star players had teammates step up in a major support role and their play warrants recognition.

Dowell is a freshman with a very bright future. she shined in all aspects of the game for Ryle. Offensively she scored the ball in multitude of ways. She is a very good shooter from deep and the midrange. Dowell is a sneaky athletic kid with very quick hands and feet. She caused problems in both games on defense with on the ball pressure and steals as well as tipping or intercepting passes with her reach in the passing lane. Dowell turned thet offense into defense and scored on the break several times. Dowell plays with a very high IQ and will continue to get better with age and experience. She is a very good '29 prospect with Division One potential.

Copper did an excellent job running the point for Ryle. She did an outstanding job executing her taem's offense in the half court and on the break. Cooper was the smallest player on the court, but made her mark in both games. She has very good vision and delivered the ball to her teammates on time and spot where they could score. Cooper has some tricky ball handling and was able to get to the basket and score on occasion as well as knocking down open shots from the perimeter. Her height should not deter college coaches from recruiting her. Cooper is a very skilled, solid winner who likes to compete.

Hampton was another impressive young guard for Ryle. She did a little bit of everything for her team and did it well. She is a very skilled player who used shot fakes and the triple threat position effectively on offense to create space and drive by defenders. She also made shots from the perimeter. Hampton is an athletic kid who moved well without the ball cutting backdoor and sprinted out on the break scoring easy lay ups in transition. She has a little swag to her game on offense handling the ball as well.

This game was the most confident on the ball I have seen Avynn. She looked calm and under control against afeisty group of Ryle guards applying pressure. In a very close game, Knicely was composed and didn't try to force anything that was not there. She had a couple sequences where she went behind her back on one play and dribbled the ball between her legs on another before pulling up in rhythm and shooting a shot from deep. Something I had not seen her do before and a sign that she is building more confidence as the season goes on, something she has earned playing very well against strong competition consistently.

Quincy was another guard from South Forsyth who really played well and helped keep her team close in a very competitive game. Hilton made all the hustle plays, rebounded the ball well, and played scrappy defense for the War Eagles. Offensively is where she delivered her most important contributions when her team needed points from someone other than Morris. Hilton scored timely baskets when her team needed them converting on shots from the 10-12 feet and three point range. Her emergence could be instrumental in a potential deep run for the War Eagles in the state tournament.

Reckley once again impacted this contest in every aspect of the game. Her quick feet and good movement allow her to disrupt the flow of the opposing team's offense. She plays with a very high motor and as a willing sprinter on the fast break you can count of her getting points in transition. Reckley is a good shooter from three point range and consistency makes shots from that area of the court. She is not afraid of contact and does a good job attacking the basket off the dribble.
