<p>810 Varsity hosts great showcase events throughout the high school season. These showcases are known for matching up some of the Greater Kansas City area's top teams, featuring elite talent from both Kansas and Missouri. In the 42nd edition, we take a look at Lee's Summit West, one of the area's powerhouse programs this year, currently sitting at 6–1.</p>

<p>They were matched up against Olathe South, who entered the season at 3–3.</p>

<p>Lee's Summit West controlled the game for most of the contest, leading throughout regulation. However, Olathe South made a crucial fourth-quarter run and took a one-point lead late in the game before West tied it at 54. The game headed into overtime, where Lee's Summit West pulled out a hard-fought 63–58 victory.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Eve is currently our top-ranked player in the state of Kansas for the Class of 2027, and she put her complete game on display this evening. She consistently ran the floor in transition, finishing uncontested layups, and was dominant on the glass—grabbing offensive rebound after offensive rebound and converting multiple putbacks.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">The fourth quarter belonged to Long, as she went on a mini run of her own by sprinting the floor and getting deep post touches that led to easy layups.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Broke did a great job handling pressure in this game, showing her ability to control the pace and facilitate the offense. She consistently delivered the ball where and when it was needed, while also recognizing and taking advantage of her own offensive opportunities. Maupin also showcased her ability to stretch the floor, knocking down shots from long range throughout the game.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Alex showcased her sharp shooting ability by knocking down long-range threes throughout the night. She did an excellent job sprinting ahead in transition to the corner and spotting up for open looks. Keister also displayed her playmaking skills, getting teammates involved by making several high-level passes.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Saniah did a great job crashing both the offensive and defensive glass, which often resulted in easy putbacks. She faced one of the toughest matchups of the evening and showed her ability to compete and hold her own, forcing tough shots throughout the night. Saniah was also very effective on the offensive end, gaining deep post position that allowed her to catch and finish from either shoulder.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">She played great minutes this afternoon for West, coming out aggressive and looking for her shot. She knocked down early looks from the midrange and beyond the arc, setting the tone offensively. On the defensive end, she was very solid, applying constant pressure. She also did a good job attacking off the dribble—driving to find teammates on the perimeter and finishing plays herself.</p>

<p>Snoody was a menace on the defensive end all game, constantly harassing the ball and creating turnovers that led to easy transition baskets. She controlled the pace offensively and got downhill at will. Snoody also showcased her vision and instincts, delivering several well-timed drop-off passes to the post off drives for layups.</p>
