We all know high-scorers are going to draw headlines but players that convert at a high level are going to win games. Those that make the most of their opportunities when the ball is in their hands are the ones coaches will turn to in big moments. Where some players get their points with high-volume attempts and an average shooting percentage, these shooters are deadly from deep while also getting lots of looks. In other words, these snipers are getting opportunities to score and converting at a really impressive rate. Continue reading to see which shooters across are consistently making it rain across Iowa.

Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='839371' first='Grace' last='Holsteen'] has been very impressive thus far through her senior year. Leading the way in scoring for Mediapolis High School, Holsteen is shooting 40.4% from three point range this year while also averaging about eight attempts per game. The Bulldogs are a balanced squad and have turned to Holsteen in big moments consistently, and Holsteen has delivered — she has already posted games with 5 and 8 made threes and is showing no sign of slowing down. She gets her feet set quickly on the catch, doesn't need a lot of space to let it fly, and has deep range — Holsteen is an underrated, knockdown shooter in Class 3A.

Another underrated, high-performing shooter is [player_tooltip player_id='592200' first='Hudsyn' last='Ranschau'] from Rock Valley High School. The lengthy senior is having a stellar season thus far, scoring a cool 27.1 points per game and doing so at a super efficient rate. Ranschau is shooting about 11 attempts per game from three-point land and is making 42% of them. In a tough Siouxland conference (2A), Hudsyn has shown her reliability from deep while also making an impact across the board for the Rockets (5RPG, 3.4APG, 3.2SPG). Hudsyn isn't just making threes from easy kickout passes either — she has elite footwork coming off curl cuts and flares and has one of the quickest releases I've seen in a while. Ranschau is a true gem coming out of Western Iowa.

On a balanced Hudson High School team, senior Mollie Hansen has found the spotlight through her shooting ability beyond the arc. Launching 8.5 threes per game on average, Hansen's three point percentage this season has been superb (40.3%). Whether is's on a catch-and-shoot look or a shot off the dribble in transition, Mollie's release is quick, balanced, and consistent. Hansen looks comfortable squaring up off of down screens as well — no matter the angle of the catch, you can trust that Hansen is going to put up a good look. Hansen is also averaging over four steals per game, making her both an elite "3 and d" player for the Hudson Pirates, and an elite three point shooter in the state.

Reese Devooght is a multifaceted player who is shooting at a supreme level from deep this year. The 5'9" shooting guard is firing close to 6 attempts per game and is converting them at an eye-popping 43.5% clip. DeVooght is the top scorer on her Des Moines Christian team this year and is more than capable of catching fire from behind the arc — she drilled 8 three pointers in DSMC's matchup against AC/GC just last week. She doesn't need a lot of lift from her legs to get her shot up, which makes her deadly off the catch and unbothered by defenders' high hands. Keep your eyes on DeVooght's lights-out shooting to help DSMC make a deep push in the post-season this year.

My final high-level shooter is [player_tooltip player_id='883552' first='Braylyn' last='Birmingham'] from Norwalk High School. Only a sophomore this year, Birmingham is shooting and scoring at an elite level for the 9-1 Warriors. I'd be doing her a disservice if I didn't share her scoring stats: 32.2PPG, 56.6 FG%, 45.9 3PT%, and 85.1 FT%. She's shooting just over 6 three point shots per game and is making them count — Birmingham doesn't shy away from attempts 2-3 feet beyond the arc and does a nice job creating space behind screens to free herself up to shoot. Combined with her high IQ and ability to get to the rack, Birmingham is a top-notch bucket getter that will not only make you pay from beyond the arc, but will do so while helping you win games.
