Clover Hill broke this game open when they started to full-court press, and Deja's defensive instincts impressed me. Deja is a great driver going to her left, and she made a handful of nice passes. She was active on the glass and had a nice two-way performance in a win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1606323' first='Kalaia' last='Handy'] had a huge game for Stafford, but she did it in a way that you don't often see from guards. Watching this game, it was obvious she was having a big game, but looking at the stats after, I didn't realize she had 37 points. Kalaia did a great job finding open spots in James Monroe's defense, and she excelled at cutting. She had a handful of tough finishes with both hands, and just by pure will, she was able to get buckets at the rim when she wanted. Stafford really won this game on the glass, and Kalaia got after it late on the glass. She was clutch, scoring the last 6 points of this game after Stafford was down 2 late.

[player_tooltip player_id='1353015' first='Frances' last='Fischi'] ran the show for Trinity in their blowout win over John Marshall. Her ball handling and court vision were elite, and she was dominant in transition.

In a low-scoring game, it felt like [player_tooltip player_id='239413' first='Keyarah' last='Rainey'] was one of the only people who reliably created her own shot. Keyarah had a couple of easy layups off Mt. Zion Prep turnovers, and she was incredible as a slasher. She had a handful of creative finishes, and her balance was great all game. Keyarah's handle and jump shooting looked really good, and even though they lost today Key looked like the best player on the floor.

You may not think of [player_tooltip player_id='443620' first='Madison' last='Smith'] as a slasher at first, but I think it's what makes her such a versatile and tough player to cover. When Madison decides to go downhill, most of the bigs that defend her just can't keep up. When she gets out in transition, she is such a good athlete that she often blows by multiple players. This Kings Fork Manchester game was competitive throughout, and the way Madison closed it was a big reason Manchester won. She had a big defensive contest late and a couple of clutch buckets. She had a 20-point double-double in an OT win.

Being able to get to the rim can open up so many things for other players on your offense. Here are the players who did that the best this weekend.
