Steinbrenner (11–5) made the short trip to Tampa Catholic (16–4) on Monday night in a matchup featuring two of Tampa's top five programs and top-100 teams statewide. Despite being without their leading scorer ([player_tooltip player_id='743522' first='Samantha' last='Coble']) and dealing with a late start, Steinbrenner came out with early energy before the pace slowed to a grind. Tampa Catholic edged ahead 10–6 after one, capitalizing on a prolonged scoring drought from the Warriors. Steinbrenner showed fight in the second quarter with multiple lead changes, but TC carried a 21–15 advantage into halftime. The Crusaders controlled the second half, creating separation en route to a 45–34 win, though Steinbrenner flashed life late in a game that was more competitive than the final score suggests. She knocked down a corner three early then buried another triple in the second quarter to give Steinbrenner the lead. Sarah did a great job finding her spots (especially in the corner), and finished with three made threes overall. She also showed toughness and body control attacking the rim, converting a strong drive for an and-one that pulled the game within one early in the second quarter. She was comfortable putting the ball on the floor and flashed a smooth spin move in the lane as well as frequently driving left before finishing with a right-handed scoop. Her activity on the glass stood out as well, posting a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds in a well-rounded performance.     Lily set the tone early.by opening the scoring with a three and continuing to stretch the floor throughout the night. She knocked down another corner triple and added one from the wing, showing consistent mechanics and confidence in her shot—she shoots the three the same way every time and can hit it at a solid clip. Several of her makes came at key moments and helped put the Warriors away. Beyond her shooting, she proved to be a capable secondary ball handler by giving the offense a steady option outside of the primary point.     Ashley controlled the game in multiple ways, starting with her dominance on the glass. She consistently extended possessions and finished defensive stops with rebounds which set the tone for TC. Offensively, she played unselfish basketball all night, repeatedly making the extra pass and keeping the offense flowing. One of her biggest moments came with a clutch three late in the half that gave TC momentum heading into the break. When she looked to score off the bounce, her ability to drive left and rise into a pull-up jumper proved unguardable and was a key factor in TC taking control.     Even on a down shooting night, Avery made a major impact across the floor. Her defensive activity stood out immediately, blocking three perimeter three-point attempts and showing her ability to cover ground and close space—highlighted by a three-point block on the very first possession of the game. Offensively, she made strong reads, including a well-timed assist out of the pick-and-roll, and was quick getting downhill when lanes opened. She finished effectively in transition and knocked down a smooth pull-up jumper which showed her scoring versatility. Avery's ability to affect the game in multiple ways went beyond the box score.     Kelsey's speed and defensive presence were on full display throughout the night. She consistently applied pressure on the ball and used her quickness and handle to dribble and weave around defenders to create advantages off the bounce. Offensively, she impressed with her ability to knock down the three, connecting on multiple corner triples and burying a big one from the top of the key in the second quarter to retake the lead. Her pace, shot-making, and defensive intensity gave Tampa Catholic a steady spark on both ends.     Serena looks like a freshman to watch in the Tampa Bay area for Steinbrenner. She brings good size and a strong frame in the post, pairing it with soft hands and solid touch—highlighted by a clean catch and finish off the pick-and-roll. Defensively, she showed the ability to block shots and rebound her area by consistently using fundamental box-outs to secure the ball. She also flashed good feel as a passer from the post by making the right reads and showing maturity in not rushing an outlet pass after a board.     Kimora always provides a spark for Tampa Catholic by bringing energy on both ends of the floor. She applied consistent pressure defensively and was effective attacking off the dribble by getting into the paint and finding open teammates. In the open floor, she did a good job finishing in transition, turning defense into easy offense and helping TC maintain control of the game.     Qantu gave Steinbrenner quality minutes, showing strong defensive effort at the top of the zone and being active in passing lanes. She capped the first quarter with a timely three which provided a momentum boost, and she later showed confidence attacking the rim with a good drive and finish in the fourth quarter. Her energy and two-way contribution helped the Warriors compete in a game without their top player active.
