As we work our way into the middle third of the season, I wanted to highlights some impressive names so far this year that sometimes get overlooked in this area of the state. Across Florida, a number of SWFL players have been quietly putting together impactful, winning performances that deserve more recognition. Whether it's elevating their program, producing consistently night after night, or thriving in expanded roles, these athletes have been standout contributors well before the spotlight finds them:

Cymone is a left-handed guard who consistently makes the right basketball play and impacts the game beyond the box score. She shows strong court awareness, sees the floor well, and delivers timely passes that help keep her team organized offensively. On the defensive end, she plays tough and uses her quickness to stay in front of opponents and apply pressure. She has also proven she isn't afraid of the moment as she hit a clutch three-pointer to send a game to overtime in a matchup I attended earlier this season.

Sol consistently gets downhill and finishes through contact, putting pressure on the defense off the dribble. She pushes the pace in transition and brings a noticeable level of energy whenever she's on the floor. She is effective driving the baseline, sees the floor well, and creates opportunities for others as a distributor. She also showed touch with a runner and moves well both with and without the ball, making her a versatile offensive threat.

Acelia is a quick and shifty lefty guard who puts constant pressure on the defense. She has a tight handle highlighted by a quick crossover and hesi dribble that allows her to create separation off the bounce. She is a knockdown shooter who can score at all three levels by using a smooth euro step and soft runner to finish in the paint. On the defensive end, she applies strong ball pressure and competes which makes her a two-way presence at the point.

Taylor does a little bit of everything for her team and leads them in every major statistical category—points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. She is efficient from deep and shows confidence as a shooter while also being a strong, willing passer who makes plays for others. Around the rim, she finishes in crafty and powerful ways by using her strength and body control. Her high-level instincts on both ends of the floor consistently put her in the right spots and make her a complete, game-impacting presence.

Jayla uses her length effectively to protect the rim and block shots on the defensive end. She is active on the glass by consistently crashing the offensive boards and converting putback opportunities. Offensively, she does a good job rolling hard to the rim, running the floor, and cutting through the paint to create high-percentage looks. She showed her impact in winning time as well by scoring clutch paint points and securing controlled rebounds late in the game I attended.

Ella is an unselfish guard who consistently helps her teammates thrive while still producing at a high level herself. She pushes the pace in transition with control, delivers crisp passes, and keeps the offense flowing. She shoots the ball efficiently and owns one of the best mid-range jumpers in the area with the ability to get to her spots with confidence. Ella is easily one of the top players in SWFL, and she backs it up with production by averaging 21.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.4 steals per game.
