There is nothing more exciting than watching a guard grab the rebound and immediately put the opposition at a disadvantage. Rebounding is often viewed as a front-court responsibility, but some of the most dangerous advantages in today's game come when guards turn the glass into a weapon. These are players who don't just secure the rebound and change the possession; they collapse defenses before they can get set, create number advantages in transition, and force opponents to defend at an uncomfortable pace. Whether it leads to a coast-to-coast finish or a full-court assist, these guards change the flow of the game the moment the ball comes off the rim. In this article, we look at some of the most exciting “grab and go” players in the State.

[player_tooltip player_id='728921' first='Yvette' last='Brown'] has one of the best offensive skills in the State, and her recent mid-range attack against Cardinal Mooney was a masterpiece. Brown is a fierce competitor who averages nearly 8 rebounds per game from the point guard position. That spells instant fast break, and it often puts the defense at a disadvantage. Brown shoots the ball from all over the court and has a potent midrange game that often comes on the heels of a grab-and-go sequence. Her ability to stop and pop or get all the way to the rim through physicality is what makes her a special player.

[player_tooltip player_id='248551' first='Alanna' last='Tatum'] has consistently been one of the top guards in the State for the past 4 years and has run the point position for the past 6 years - playing varsity as a middle schooler. Tatum has made the "grab and go" a part of her game and also the "steal and go". When the possession changes, Tatum has been able to turn the instant change of possession into a transition finish and into an offensive weapon. Tatum has speed, power, and the ability to change directions while attacking at full speed. These are the traits that make her a dangerous prospect with the ball in her hands, and securing it immediately off the glass is what makes her one of the top guards in the 2026 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='514625' first='Sophia' last='Scibelli'] is probably one of the top rebounding guards in the State and her ability to "grab it and go" is what has helped take her game to the next level. Scibelli can grab a rebound, push tempo, advance the ball with the vertical pass, and stop and pop from the three. Scibelli uses the grab and go as a weapon - getting lots of open looks from the three- another area where she is consistently dangerous. Scibelli is ranked in the top 20 in the State in double-doubles, and that's a rare feat from the guard position.

[player_tooltip player_id='752581' first='Alyssa' last='Donohue'] is another player who thrives in the "grab and go" game. At 5'10, Donohue is long and can rebound the ball from the small forward and guard position. She is another player who turns defense into offense from a rebound or a steal. Donohue recently went over 1000 points, and her dominance in the transition game has been a huge part of the story. She rebounds and gets steals in passing lanes. From there, she grabs and goes and consistently gets buckets. She is one of the most versatile offensive players on the First Coast. She can shoot the three, shoot the midrange, and is dangerous in transition - especially on a grab-and-go sequence.

[player_tooltip player_id='248697' first='Paisley' last='Binswanger'] is one of the most versatile prospects in the State, and the stat sheet tells the story. She leads her team in all the major categories: steals, rebounds, assists, and scoring. Observing a game in one of the Wesley Chapel tournaments, Binswanger's impact on the game was instantly recognized. She is just a talented and selfless player who does what her team needs. Averaging nearly 8 rebounds per game from the point guard position and scoring nearly 19 points per game, the grab-and-go sequence for Binswanger is just routine. It is what makes her one of the top players in the 2026 class.
