This past weekend saw the third annual King's Klassic emanate from 2A Marion HS in the Pee Dee. A grand total of 10 girls teams took part in this year's festivities – including four on the final day. The number 35 is also an important integer relating to the King's Klassic considering that is how many seconds are on the shot clock it utilizes.

We at Prep Girls Hoops were on hand for that Monday schedule of matchups. After acknowledging a few standouts in the frontcourt earlier, we turn our attention to the stellar guard play we saw at the home of the Swamp Foxes.

The Chiefs of North Myrtle Beach have once again established themselves as a team to beat in the 5A Division 2 ranks. The freshman two guard finished with 15 points as the Chiefs' 63-22 victory over 2A Mullins preserved North Myrtle Beach's unblemished record. Add on 10 rebounds and that is a double-double. Anglin can be accurate with her 3-point shot and thrives as a playmaker in the transition game. Even though she plays primarily in the backcourt, her high basketball IQ comes into play with her willingness to be versatile and make plays in close proximity to the rim. Anglin is the only freshman on this year's North Myrtle Beach team and she is a two-sport athlete who also plays softball.

Win number 16 had to be very sweet for 5A Division 2 North Myrtle Beach especially considering the Chiefs are 16-for-16 in 2025-26. Vereen had another productive game as she helped North Myrtle Beach's efforts with 13 points. Vereen displays her offensive toughness with her willingness to draw contact and find her way to the free throw line. She is every bit as effective a passer as she is as a scorer – Vereen also dished out six assists in addition to hauling in seven rebounds. At 5-foot-11, she presents a taller stature than the average point guard and is one of four juniors on this season's Chiefs team. Vereen runs with SC Future during travel play.

Matching up against the undefeated power that is 5A Division 2 North Myrtle Beach is a tough draw for any team. Even though Woodberry's 2A Mullins assembling had a rough day against the Chiefs, Woodberry still put forth a win-worthy performance to the tune of eight points for her Auctioneers. Woodberry can effectively handle the ball with her left hand and understands the correct situations that require her to score and to pass. She attracts plenty of attention from defenses and she understands that being an effective passer can open things up for her teammates to make plays. Woodberry is one of four 2028s on this year's Aucs team.

Considering 4A Wilson entered Monday's matchup with 2A Marion a bit shorthanded, this meant the Tigers' other marquee players had to do more than usual. Miller is one of those names and she answered the call by placing 12 points on the board against the Swamp Foxes. Miller is a skilled attacker of the rim and does not shy away from attempting tough shots. Miller also understands the concept of drawing contact to get to the free throw line and can match an opposing ball carrier step for step as a defender. Miller is one of four from the class of 2026 on this year's Wilson team.
