You don’t become the #1 prospect out of your grade level in your state at 5’5 without being able to get after it on the defensive end. That’s the situation that Kinley Ford is currently in. She is the best 2029 in Nebraska at this time and that’s because of her seasoned play style at the guard position. She is the type that is VERY talented on both sides of the ball but her main ability is making everyone else around her better. She does a good job of showing early on during games that she can get her hands on several tips/deflections as a contest wears on. Her quick feet and the way she reacts to passes coming her way is so natural that it looks effortless when she gets a steal and takes it down the other way. It’s also important to note that she is good at working through screening action whenever it’s put in her way because of how well she communicates. Ford is going to bring in a handful of D1 offers on the road this AAU season. She just has to do her thing and the rest will be history.

is looking GOOD moving into the thick of her team’s high school season. On Saturday afternoon Ford hit her team’s game winning jumper to send them to victory after a slow start earlier in the ball-game. This was a contest that finished with a score of 31-29 so you can know it was a defensive battle in the grand scheme of things. With about 5 seconds left, Ford caught the ball from a BLOB on the left Wing, she attacked with her right into a two dribble pull up from the elbow. A shot that hit off the front of the rim, the backboard, and then in for the win as time expired. There were some good battles at this event from the looks of it but this had to be one of the best finishes. If not THEE best, when looking at the big picture.

starts off this Ranking Update at #1 for the 2029 Class. Ford is lightning in a bottle as a prospect right now. She moves quickly down the court, she has a fast mental capacity to adapt in real time, she is very shifty with her side-to-side movement, and she can also defend her own at a higher rate than most. Ford is the only 2029 prospect out of Nebraska that was taking P4 visits coming into this Winter so it’s to no surprise that she is shining at Alma High School. The debate some will make for moving Ford out of this #1 spot in the future is the high school competition level she is competing against but as long as she holds her own on the AAU scene, while being a big producer at Alma, she should prove enough for most.

has been to start off this season for Alma High School. Ford is known is the best 2029 in the state with her skill-set. She might be a smaller guard at 5’5 but there is no one close to Ford when it comes to the in’s and out’s of the game. She understands situational basketball, she is shifty with a nasty ability to control her body while attacking the rim. She is someone that sticks to her matchup like white on rice, never leaving their side, always making a play when it matters the most. Ford is currently a Top Leader in PPG throughout the state and she also is consistently showing up as an Assist leader and defensive threat to create some chaos. If this groups at Alma continues to play off of their general guard-play, they are going to be tough to stop as we move into the State Tournament in a few months.

as being the front runner for the #1 spot out of the 2029 Class in Nebraska so I’m glad that she is already proving us right to begin her high school career. In Alma’s first two contests of the Winter, Ford is averaging 22 PPG on over 50% shooting. Ford is also showing up in the Steals and Assisting departments, recording several of each so far. These performances are only going to get better with time and experience on the Varsity floor. The more Ford plays, the slower things will become and the easier things will be. This is a player that has taken a few D1 P4 visits before ever taking the high school court so I expect that interest to continue to grow as we move forward.

is going to be the #1 ranked player out of the 2029 Class in Nebraska moving into this Winter season. It’s not just my opinion but it’s everyone’s opinion that has seen her compete. Everyone says the same thing, this one is special and she is. Ford is a killer with the handle and as an overall bucket getter. She looks the past and she backs it up with a ton of buckets, along with several steals on defense in a short amount of game-time each contest. Ford will help Alma make the State Tournament come the new year. She is the only one of two 2029’s in Nebraska that holds a D1 offer at this moment in time and she is only going to get better with experience.

has not played a Varsity game yet at the high school level and she just received another offer, this time from D1 – UNO out of Omaha. Ford is going to be the state of Nebraska’s #1 player in the 2029 Class when that Ranking Update comes about this Winter. This may be a smaller guard but her skill-set is years beyond her age at this point. Ford can really do it all as a PG. Offensively, she can kill you off the handle, she can score at every offense level, and she can create at an extremely high rate for others around her. Defensively, she has quick hands, active feet, and natural instincts to stand out as someone who is racking up multiple tips, steals, and deflections each time she takes the floor. All in all, Ford will end her high school career with 25+ D1 offers before committing if her progression stays consistent. No doubt about it in my mind.

received her first D2 offer from UNK a few weeks ago but she just recently posted in publicly. Ford is highly considered as the best 2029 in the state of Nebraska and at this point, I would have to agree with really no debate. Ford plays the right way, she is EXTREMELY skilled for her position as a PG, and she is someone that wants to kill her competition. There are a lot of great players out there competing but not many have that mentality. Ford doesn’t care about a trophy or award. She cares about beating you. Plain and simple. Thats the mentality of a real competitor and I can’t wait to see that more and more come this Winter. She is going to take the state by storm in the blink of an eye. Trust me.

to produce over the next four years at a high level but she is in conversation for being the #1 2029 to start things off. Which does come with the territory that she has to show us what she can really do. Something that I am not worried about. Ford really is that player. Her skill-set is second to none out of the 2029 Class for the state of Nebraska. She would be the #1 player in a lot of other states as well when it comes to her pure skill-set. It’s impressive. She handles, creates, facilities, and she has a DEEP bag of counter/step-thru moves. Alma is going to return a lot of solid hoopers from a year ago and adding Ford might put them over the top but we will see.

has grabbed national attention on the road this Spring while playing up a grade level with her 15U ETG Midwest
Elite
3SSB team. Ford is a skilled PG out of the Alma area of Nebraska. She is the type that will be game-changer at the Varsity level instantly because of how seasoned her overall game is. She can do it all and lead a program to success at high rates. We have seen it time and time again and now she is ready to show that to everyone watching this month of June with her high school squad. I expect Ford to have a great month at the Varsity level and then to come back for July ready to go. If she plays to her full capabilities, she is going to draw more attention as we move into the Fall.
