Thursday morning, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana posted the Winter update for the Class of 2027. Typically accompanying updates are articles highlighting players on the move, newcomers, and just all-around general information regarding each position group. Below is a look at the top point guards in the state of Indiana, followed by some commentary on a handful of prospects who have played well since the Fall update.

[player_tooltip player_id='890800' first='Keara' last='Lipscomb-Allen'], McCutcheon H.S.
- Keara had a strong Sophomore season in 2024-2025 after transferring from Benton Central to McCutcheon, but she has been even better this year for the Mavericks, increasing her averages in scoring, rebounding, assists, and steals. She is a long, fluidly athletic, but also quick and explosive guard who can get by most defenders. She's also incredibly long and able to affect passing lanes or bother ball-handlers with her length.

[player_tooltip player_id='751032' first='Abigail' last='Orme'], Hamilton Southeastern H.S.
- Abby is a tough-nosed, compact, hard-working, and crafty point guard prospect. She saw limited action in 26 games over her first two years, but she has gotten a big opportunity as a Junior and is taking advantage of it. She is currently third in scoring, fourth in rebounding, second in assists, and third in steals for the highly ranked Royals. I expect for her to have a big Spring as well and draw a lot of elite small college interest with her play.

[player_tooltip player_id='1229374' first='Brooke' last='Dawson'], Lowell H.S.
- I've been watching Brooke play ball since she was in middle school, and she has always flashed really nice potential. It looks as though the Lady Red Devils have handed her the keys this season, as she has helped Lowell to a 12-6 record thus far by averaging 12.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 3.6 steals per game. She has nice length, she's a balanced athlete, and she plays with a nice motor, plus she'll rebound and defend.

[player_tooltip player_id='751114' first='Olivia' last='Pratcher'], Daleville H.S.
- I've been a big fan of Olivia's since she was entering high school, and she only gets better and better. She is a 3-year starter for the 14-3 Broncos, and even though they're a 1A school, she could find minutes just about anywhere. She is long, athletic, plus she's getting stronger and finishing much better through contact. She can create & distribute, she can shoot/score it, plus she's a great rebounder for a guard and an effective defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='751119' first='Satyra' last='Scott'], Kokomo H.S.
- One thing Kokomo has had over the last several years is really good guards, especially smaller, quick/explosive ones. Satyra is another one of those entertaining little guards who uses speed & quickness to beat her defender off the bounce. She is a capable creator/passer, she's willing to find teammates, but she's also an effective scorer who can fill it up in bunches. Defensively, she is an absolute gnat and really bothers opponents.
