Athletes who know how to score are going to get recruited — that's just a fact of life. But players who know how to score and rebound? Those are the must-have recruits that college coaches will go out of their way for to add to their rosters. Rebounding doesn't take skill — it takes heart and willpower. You have to want to go after rebounds, and these players are footing that bill in the 2025-2026 season. Check out these double-double machines from across the state who are efficient in the paint and dominant on the glass.

How could I not start off this list with Ms. Rebound herself, [player_tooltip player_id='582809' first='Emma' last='Boswell']. The Nodaway Valley senior just eclipsed the all-time record for rebounds for 5 on 5 in the state of Iowa! She is simply smashing the boards this season, pulling in 13.2 per game (6 of them being offensive). On offense the small forward is scoring 14 points per game and doing so at an efficient rate of 42%FG. As if her impact stops there, Emma also averages almost 3 steals and 2 blocks per game. [player_tooltip player_id='582809' first='Emma' last='Boswell'] is a consistent, reliable threat for Nodaway Valley, who has their sights set on a deep post season run this season partly thanks to her relentless efforts across the floor.

On a Webster City squad predominantly made up of sophomores and juniors, sophomore Evie Davis has taken the spotlight this season. The 6'1" power forward has had a breakout year thus far by averaging 14.3 points and 11.6 rebounds in class 4A. Davis is capable of putting up serious numbers — in the past few weeks she has tallied games with 24 & 13, 16 & 14, and 23 & 16. She's also scoring the rock at about 45%, showing that her scoring ability isn't just from volume shooting. In a strong North Central Conference, Evie Davis has proven herself as a double-double machine and a player to watch for the next two seasons.

At Osage High School all eyes are on power forward [player_tooltip player_id='1130683' first='Addison' last='Marcks'], and she has delivered in her senior year. She's leading the Green Devils (one of the best mascots in the state, might I add) in points, rebounds, steals and blocks. Marcks' double-double average of 16.9 points and 11.4 rebounds per game puts her at second in rebounds and seventh in scoring in the Top of Iowa Conference — stats I believe are worthy of post-season honors. Another aspect I like from the power forward is her ability to stretch the floor. Though she doesn't shoot a lot of threes, she is shooting at a high level (almost 40% on the year). Well done to Marcks and her efforts as a veteran leader.

[player_tooltip player_id='609462' first='Isabelle' last='Kremer'] has gotten better every season at Pleasant Valley, and has put together an excellent senior campaign as the cherry on top. The 6'3" center is dominating the glass for the Spartans and has evolved as a serious scoring threat in the paint. From her freshman season to now, she has increased her scoring average over 3 points and 2 boards each year. In 2025-26, she's averaging 14.3 points per game while shooting at an elite level — 52%. Adding 10.1 rebounds per game has her name being considered as a dark horse for Player of the Year honors in the Mississippi Athletic Conference. This future Drake volleyballer and double-double machine has lots to be proud of as post-season approaches.

My final double-double machine is [player_tooltip player_id='833967' first='Deidra' last='Doeden'] out of western Iowa. Cherokee Washington High School is rolling this season, and part of their success should be attributed to Doeden's production on both sides of the floor. She's averaging 16.4 points and 12.9 rebounds for the 16-3 Braves squad and is extremely efficient with the ball her hands. She's scoring 52% of the shots she takes this year while crashing the boards for extra opportunities at the rim (averaging 5.6 offensive rebounds per game). She's also a menace in the paint, where she averages 2 blocks per game. In short, if you need a bucket, a board or a block, you can rely on [player_tooltip player_id='833967' first='Deidra' last='Doeden'].
