I got to see a fairly entertaining game between Middleton and Milwaukee Academy of Science out in Middleton. The Lady Novas of Milwaukee Academy of Science ended up taking that game 72-68, and I'll actually be out again in the Madison area today, but in the city to watch Wisconsin welcome in the Indiana Hoosiers for a Big Ten matchup. However, before I head west later, we'll look at some players who may have a role to play in the postseason over the next month and a half.

[player_tooltip player_id='1361656' first='Peace' last='Petzold']

In the first portion of the season, Pewaukee was bleeding her into the rotation and not asking her to be a significant contributor in her first season of high school basketball. However, with some of the injuries in the Pirates' rotation, Petzold has an opportunity to make the Pewaukee frontcourt her own this season. She has the size, spaces the floor, has some touch around the basket, and the potential to be an excellent frontcourt player. She may determine how far the Pirates go this postseason.

[player_tooltip player_id='1173652' first='Lillee' last='Jackson']

In the sectional Pius finds themselves in, Jackson is a player who can hunt mismatches against any team in their path to potentially make the state tournament. The 6'0 wing is an athletic and physical player with the skill to attack defenses off the dribble. She also has the size to overpower guards around the basket, and she has the tools to be the difference against some of the top teams in Division 2.

[player_tooltip player_id='1099058' first='Ava' last='Dotson']

Sectional 3 in Division 2 could plausibly be won by three or four teams, and Grafton is one of them. In a world where the Black Hawks win their sectional, [player_tooltip player_id='1099058' first='Ava' last='Dotson'] is a player who will have to play well on both ends of the floor. She is a talented two-way player who can guard some of the most talented players on the perimeter and has the ability to be an aggressive ball handler offensively, beating her initial defender off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='764907' first='Ellyana' last='Petersen']

The first player off the Arrowhead bench, Petersen is a player who can add perimeter shooting to any lineup she's a part of, and has made high-profile shots over the past 12 months. Petersen will likely have a moment or two that could make a significant difference for her team and could help start a run when her team's offense is struggling, potentially at the state tournament.
