NOVA Starting 5: Freshman

Autumn is a great two-way player and scores the ball at all three levels. I love how hard she plays, and she is an excellent rebounder at her size. I recently discussed what she did in the postseason for Colgan, and she proved that she is one of the premier up-and-coming talents in the state. Sky joined this VA Academy team late, and although she did not always get a lot of minutes, she made the most of them when she did. She defends well and is a great driver. Nyla is a knockdown shooter and a great athlete who does a great job attacking the rim. Her rebounding was elite all season, and she finished second on the team in that. Ireton did not have a senior on the roster, and it was really fun watching this team. [player_tooltip player_id='983664' first='Nina' last='Mceldon'] may have been the best of the new players, and she was outstanding this year. Her size mixed with elite skill provided match-up nightmares for opponents. She has a great jump shot and has amazing hands. She is a guard in a bigs body and is one of the better prospects in the DMV right now. O'Connell struggled as a squad, but I enjoyed watching her play. Her rebounding is great, and she always plays with a high motor. She has a solid touch around the rim and played with a level of physicality you don't see from many freshmen.
