Expert Analysis
Avi Burmenko | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Nina serves as a steady floor general, organizing her team’s offense and making sure everyone is in the right position. Even when defenses throw double teams at her, she remains calm and makes the correct read to find the open teammate. She’s also a reliable three-point shooter and uses her strength effectively around the basket, where she finishes well through contact.

Bishop Ireton’s roster looked really different this year compared to 2024-25, but they were still one of the best teams in the state. Ireton did not have a senior on the roster, and it was really fun watching this team.

may have been the best of the new players, and she was outstanding this year. Her size mixed with elite skill provided match-up nightmares for opponents. She has a great jump shot and has amazing hands. She is a guard in a bigs body and is one of the better prospects in the DMV right now. She was first team VISAA and 2nd team all-conference in the WCAC.

Nina comes in as one of the top freshmen in the state of Virginia. She is a key region as to why Bishop Ireton was pick as the preseason favorites to win it all. She plays with a lot of confidence and at around 6’2″ she is a threat from beyond the arc. She does not shy away from using her body down low and is a good finisher around the basket. She was second on her team in scoring in the championship game with 10 points and had big plays in the semi finals as well.

had a strong couple of games for Bishop Ireton. Nina’s jump shot looks great, and she is almost automatic from the mid-range. She scores effectively at all 3 levels, and even though at times she gets affected by length, she still does good work using her size in the paint. Nina does a good job using her body to carve out space on the glass, and she has glue for hands. On the other end, she uses her hands really well to get her hands on shots and swipe at the ball. She had 18 points and 20 rebounds in the semis and was really solid in the final.
