There is NOTHING like cutting down the nets on championship night! Heated rivalries, PACKED gyms, and bragging rights that carry into next season… this is Kentucky basketball at its absolute BEST! The 5th District Tournament delivered everything you could ask for and more. High intensity matchups, momentum swings, and players stepping up in the biggest moments as every team emptied the tank with a championship on the line!

The semifinals, hosted by Crittenden County, saw the home team come out with energy and purpose from the very beginning. The Lady Rockets were locked in defensively and set the tone early, overwhelming Livingston Central in a dominant 60-30 win. Every possession was contested, every shot was challenged, and Crittenden County made it clear they were on a mission. From the opening tip to the final buzzer, they controlled the pace and never let Livingston Central find any rhythm!

On the other side of the bracket, Lyon County took care of business against Trigg County 73-54. Lyon County played with confidence and composure, executing on both ends of the floor and showing why they've been one of the top teams in the district all season. With that win, they punched their ticket to the championship game and set up a matchup everyone had been waiting on. Two familiar teams. One final stage. Everything to play for!

Crittenden County entered the championship at 7-1 in district play, while Lyon County came in at 6-2. The Lady Rockets held a 2-1 advantage in the regular season series, but championship games are a different level. Records don't matter. Past matchups don't matter. It all comes down to who can rise to the moment when everything is on the line!

And when that moment arrived, Crittenden County answered the call!

In a physical, back-and-forth battle filled with big shots and key stops, the Lady Rockets pulled away late to secure a 58-52 victory and claim the district championship. It was a complete team effort, with multiple players stepping up and delivering when it mattered most!

Senior [player_tooltip player_id='376793' first='Anna' last='Boone'] led the way with 17 points and 9 huge rebounds, controlling the paint and making winning plays all night long. She's been a steady force all season, averaging 14.1 points per game and a team-high 5.5 rebounds while also leading the team in free throw production, shooting nearly 83% from the line.

Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1179323' first='Jordyn' last='Hodge'] came up clutch, finishing with 16 points and going 11 of 13 from the free throw line in high pressure moments. Time after time, she stepped to the line and delivered. Hodge has been one of the top scorers all season, averaging a team-high 15.4 points per game while leading the team in three-pointers made.

Senior Elliot Evans added 15 points and 7 rebounds, bringing toughness, effort, and consistency on both ends of the floor.
