Grandview Prep completed its title defense, winning back to back Class 1A championships under head coach Jeff Price. After graduating three Division I players from last year's roster, there were questions about how the program would reload and how they would mesh as a talented group once their roster was revealed. The answer came through a mix of returning contributors and new additions who stepped into major roles and helped keep the championship standard intact. They finished the season with a record of 26-4 and a really impressive strength of schedule. Their only two in-state losses came to Miami Country Day (2A Champs) and Somerset Canyons (3A #1 Seed). Here are a few players who made this championship season possible:

Jasleen cemented her legacy in Florida girls basketball with four state championship appearances in four years and two titles, including this one in the final game of her high school career. Winning your last game like that is a rare and special accomplishment. This weekend she did exactly what her team needed, making scoring look easy while helping control the boards and the pace of the game. Her leadership and production set the tone as Grandview Prep cruised to another Class 1A state championship. It's been a pleasure to watch Jas do her thing!

Victoria was electric all weekend and looked like she was playing some of the best basketball of her career. In the state title game she delivered a remarkable stat line with 26 points on 53 percent shooting, 50 percent from three, and a perfect mark from the free throw line while adding 5 assists and 4 steals with 0 turnovers. She controlled the game with confidence and efficiency and simply could not be stopped in her pursuit of a state championship with this special Grandview team.

Ameera was excellent all season and carried that form through the state tournament for Grandview Prep. She was efficient all weekend in her pursuit of a first state championship. Neither opponent could match her physicality or will to win. Ameera took care of the ball, contributed on the boards, and scored at will on her way to claiming a state title.

Meanwhile, Miami Country Day and Ochiel Swaby added another chapter to their historic run. The victory marked the program's fourth consecutive state title and its 11th overall, further cementing its place among the most successful programs in Florida girls basketball history. They now sit at 28-2 for the season with a possbility of being selected to compete in Chipotle Nationals with only two losses - one early in the year to Hoover(AL) and a recent loss to IMG Academy in OT. The Spartans did, however, face adversity during the weekend as they played without injured guard [player_tooltip player_id='221602' first='Kori' last='Edge'], their third leading scorer, best passer, and one of their top defensive playmakers. Even without her, Miami Country Day found answers. Players stepped up in key moments and the three point shot proved to be a major weapon throughout the championship run. When the pressure rose, the Spartans delivered from deep and made the plays necessary to secure the four peat. Here are a few players outside of Belton and Ellis who stepped into bigger roles and got it done:

Arianna had big shoes to fill, and she more than delivered for Miami Country Day. She distributed the ball brilliantly, finishing the weekend with seven assists against just three turnovers for a 2.3 assist-to-turnover ratio. Her quick first step and hesitation moves allowed her to attack downhill, collapse defenses, and find open shooters. She also hit key buckets in the championship game, helping secure another state title ring.!

Alyssa showed why she could be a star anywhere, but she embraces the team-first mentality that defines Miami Country Day. She got her moment in the state title game, knocking down two huge threes in just eight minutes of action. In a tightly contested matchup, her timely shots made a real difference and helped the Spartans secure another championship in Jacksonville.

Kennedy was the top rebounder for Miami Country Day over the state tournament weekend, grabbing 9 boards in the semifinal and 10 in the title game. Her size, presence, and physicality were crucial in controlling the glass and gave the Spartans a major advantage in their quest for a four-peat.
