Sub-State 5A: Maize South vs Eisenhower

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over the Weekend, Maize South made another statement in Class 5A by winning the sub-state championship and advancing in the playoffs by cruising to victory over Eisenhower, 59-38. Their next playoff matchup will be against St. James Academy at a neutral location on Wednesday (3/11). With Maize South playing the way they are playing, along with Hays &amp; Andover. The Class 5A playoff tournament is looking like a premier showdown amongst some of the best guard play in the state. Jaela was the star of the night by dominating on the defensive end. She switched onto Eisenhower's leading scorer in the 3rd Quarter and got two huge stops, which shut down any potential comeback attempt for Eisenhower. By then, her shot started falling after a slow start, and she hit 3 threes and 2 midrange jumpers to seal the deal for the Lady Mavericks.
