There was a lot to like out of Emma Ryder this weekend when she took the floor with her new program, Mokan Girls Hoops out of KS. Ryder was vital in protecting the paint for her crew in most battles. She walled up between the blocks and controlled all the traffic moving in and out of the middle of the floor. There was even one contest that she didn't let in a single point in the middle of the lane. I'm not sure that Ryder was even the best player on her own team and she handled business like a professional, which you love to see from an outside perspective.

Emma Walkup, have yourself a weekend! That's the best way to describe Walkup and some of the performances she put on this last weekend in Milwaukee. Walkup was getting every shot to fall, she was hitting others that were open at a heavy rate, and most importantly - she controlled everything humanly possible to help her team win 2 of their 4 games. Over those four games, she averaged 15 PPG, 3 RPG, 2.7 APG, and 2.6 SPG. I'm not sure who is in the running right now but Emma Walkup is going to be one hell of a college PG. The way she can transition from being the leading scorer on her team to the leading distributor is not a skill most have, even at the PG position.

I am very curious to see the production that Sira Doumbia might have throughout the rest of her career. Doumbia was someone that stepped up in big moments all Winter long under the hoop, ultimately helping her CR Wash program to a 5A State appearance. She has used that momentum from the Winter season and built on it to start this AAU Spring. The reality is that no one could really match with Doumbia's this past week. She was a bruiser inside the paint and her team fed her the ball every chance they could get. Her back to the basket work was solid and she never gave up on a play. This helped their team win a lot of games over the past few days and I'm sure it'll continue to help them moving forward into the rest of the Summer.

Slow & Steady. I'm not saying Emma Truesdell is slow by any definition of the phrase. What I am saying is that when she competes, her production just keeps stacking. Slowly and steady. We saw that multiple time this weekend in her contests. She might not have lead her team in scoring each game but she was consistent. She was someone that her group could rely on for 8-12 points, along with a number of other positive stats throughout. Truedell is a solid player and this weekend she demonstrated what it means to consistently show up.

Nat Linder might be committed to play D1 Volleyball at Indiana State but she is still really solid on the hardwood because of her mixture of athletic ability and size at 6'2. We saw brief moments out of Linder this last weekend on both sides of the floor. She got after it on both ends and showed up as someone that can stick on the court because of her discipline. I think the best part around her game is that she is willing to do anything to help the team win. It's not necessarily about her scoring points or grabbing 30 boards a contest. Which is stuff you love to see from a recruitment or evaluation standpoint.
