2028 AAU State Champions: North Tartan EYBL

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Bringing home the bacon for the second year in a row, there wasn't much that stood in the way for [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] EYBL at this year's AAU State Tournament. After earning the second seed at the State Prelims, coach Macy Hatelstad's squad hit their stride early on Saturday morning. They cruised past [program_tooltip program_id='712700' first='Minnesota' last='Suns'] Bluestar in the opening round, held [program_tooltip program_id='714566' first='Minnesota' last='Stars'] 3SSB at bay in the quarterfinal, and had the upper hand against [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] EYCL Metro in the semifinals. The top 16U squad won each of the three matchups by an average margin of just over 25 points a game. Top-seeded [program_tooltip program_id='712687' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] UAA took a similar road to the championship game, winning their first three contests by 28, 20, and 19 points. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>With each team featuring many of the top-rated 2028 prospects from around the Midwest, it was anybody's game. But, in the end, it was [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] that grabbed the reins and never let go. The EYBL squad got out to an early lead and maintained a healthy distance between themselves and the Fury all game. At halftime [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] led 33 to 26, and the game never got much closer. In the end, the final score was [program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] 68, [program_tooltip program_id='712687' first='Minnesota' last='Fury'] 55. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[program_tooltip program_id='712722' first='North' last='Tartan'] shared both the ball and the scoring, with five players finishing in double figures. Fargo Shanley's [player_tooltip player_id='1004420' first='Rylee' last='Seavert'] led the way with 16 points, followed by Lakeville North guard [player_tooltip player_id='908286' first='Lauren' last='Robison'] with 13. Minnesota's #1 ranked 2029 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='872714' first='Beckett' last='Greenway'] added 12 as did [player_tooltip player_id='969855' first='AnnaClaire' last='Bugbee'] of [program_tooltip program_id='712656' first='Mandan' last=''], North Dakota. Orono's [player_tooltip player_id='644898' first='Ally' last='Moore'] rounded out the group with 10 points. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Fury were led by Andover post [player_tooltip player_id='644896' first='Logan' last='Miller'], who dropped 17 points on Sunday afternoon. Rosemount's [player_tooltip player_id='716527' first='Ashna' last='Ramlall'] also scored in double figures with 11. West Fargo Horace point guard [player_tooltip player_id='555488' first='Lakyn' last='Donnelly'] led the team in scoring throughout the tournament, finishing with 59 points in four games.
