All City Series: Nashville Division II-AA (Part 1)

Another thing that is unique about the basketball landscape we have here in Tennessee is that not all basketball is played the same way. Sure, the basics include dribbling, passing, and scoring. Ultimately, though, each area of the state has its own unique flavor.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Just like our kids, there are multiple ways for girls to become prospects. Some do it by being creative off the bounce. Some do it by being lethal catch-and-shoot kids. Some make their mark by being dominant defenders. There is more than one way to skin a cat, and there is more than one way to become a prospect.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In this series, we are going to go from major city to major city (including surrounding counties) to pick out some top kids who would make up an All-City team. This preview will hopefully serve as a helpful roadmap for keeping up with prospects in the area. Some of the bigger cities may have multiple coverage articles. The overall point is to showcase what we have in terms of talent in this state.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Without further ado, let's start in the Nashville-area private school sector, Division II. Here are just a few kids to keep an eye on this upcoming season. She is a kid who plays with a motor, doing so at both ends of the floor. She can play in multiple offensive sets and is effective no matter where she is on the floor. From the perimeter to the low block, she will find a way to get to the basket and exploit a team's weakness. Big time on the boards, reading and reacting to gaining the rebound is her calling card. She is a prospect who leads by example. She can do so from multiple levels, but getting to that mid-range and pulling up is her bread and butter. She's been effective in both Single-A and Double-A, having success in both leagues. Her game has attracted the eyes of collegiate coaches, with more on the horizon. This kid is talented and will make waves whenever she lands. She's helped lead a program and made them someone to watch out for. She scores from multiple spots on the floor, contributes in other statistical categories, and really gets after it on each possession. She's a fighter, a kid who is going to give it her all. No matter what is at stake, she is going to put up numbers. She is going to find ways to impact the game quietly. She's a kid who can create off the dribble, distribute the rock to the hot hand, and play solid defense. Anytime she is on the floor, she makes a difference. A selfless player who does nothing but gets results. She's had a solid career thus far. One who can score from multiple spots, but it's the other things she does that tend to stand out. Playing solid defense, rebounding, and blocking shots, she is going to make her presence known. On the offensive end, she can stretch the floor and attack from the arc using her speed and creative dribble moves. She can also play physical down low around the blocks. She is a difference maker any time she is on the floor. Inserted into the starting lineup as an 8th grader, she has done nothing but show up and show out. A three-level scoring threat who is a stingy defender as well, this kid creates chaos on both ends of the floor. A mismatch, someone who can put the ball in the hoop, she is a fearless competitor who has tremendous upside. Look for her to continue to grow and wreak havoc on the league. She is one that the coaches are keeping tabs on as she keeps the Lipscomb championship window open longer.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
