Potential Rank Risers: 2027 Small Forwards

It will be exciting to see the class of 2027 gear up for what should be an exciting 2026-2027 schhol season. With their high school careers starting to come to a close, here are five small forwards in the class ranked outside the top 75 who could make one last push up the Prep Girls Hoops Rankings.    [player_tooltip player_id='1819791' first='Channing' last='Jones'] is definitely a player who could be one of the bigger rank risers going into her last season of high school hoops.   Jones is a standout defender. The combination of her speed, long strides, and long arms allows her to cover a large portion of the court at the SF position. This results in Jones getting tons of defelections and steals. This past season against West Creek High School, Jones had six steals.   Jones on offense has dribble skills that have noticeably improved from a year prior and a solid 3-point shot. Jones on defense also provides the versatility to play some on the interior. Her height of 6'0", along with good lateral speed, plays into this.     [player_tooltip player_id='821829' first='Brylee' last='Flatt'] showcased in her junior season that she is an absolute sharpshooter.   Flatt game in and out, laced in multiple 3-pointers on a regular basis. Flatt has a noticeably quick jumper, and those mechanics are backed by great confidence. She does not hesitate when she gets an open look, even if she is well behind the arc. The following traits make her an elite catch-and-shoot perimeter shooter. In a game against Farmington High School, she made five 3-pointers.   Flatt also provides solid rebounding and shot blocking at the SF position.       [player_tooltip player_id='822230' first='Brooklyn' last='Lowry'] has a lot of things to like about her game.   Lowry can borderline take over games with her 3-point shooting. Her off-the-ball movement plays an integral part in this. She can get open off the ball in numerous ways, including flaring out after setting a screen. One of her better shooting performances last school season was against Brentwood Academy. In the contest, she made five 3-pointers.   Lowry is also a great passer, especially on the move. When drawing a defender on the dribble, Lowry has good instincts to then locate an open teammate.     [player_tooltip player_id='822374' first='Ally' last='Augustin'], although listed as an SF, has the skillset to act as a point guard at times.   Augustin can more than comfortably create off the dribble. She is a player who is extremely under control in one-on-one situations with the ball. She is patient and decisive with what moves she chooses to use, and this often leads to her getting an open shot. One move that Augustin often uses that creates space is her crossover.   Augustin on the dribble and off the catch can score at all three levels.       [player_tooltip player_id='822294' first='Alexandria' last='Anderson'] is constantly making a positive impact on the court.   Anderson is a team player through and through and has a playstyle that is contagious with all the effort she puts forth.   Anderson makes a notable impact in getting offensive rebounds and steals. She does a good job at cutting off her opponent on the offensive glass to secure extra scoring opportunities. Andreson displayed her high-level wing defense in a game against Silverdale Baptist Academy, where she recorded five steals.   Anderson on offense is a dangerous 3-point shooter and is also an elite cutter.
