The first day, in many ways, provided a preview of the ensuing two days when the bulk of teams that descended upon Cobb County would take to the court.

Among the litany of teams that were on hand at this year's Peach Games were a number of talented 15U teams – including several that played up in class. Without further ado, here are a few notable names from Peach Games Friday.

One of the more entertaining matchups of Peach Games Friday occurred at the Blue Devils' home court between [program_tooltip program_id='715436' first='Grind' last='To Shine (GTS) Basketball'] 15U and One Step Away Select 2030. Overtime was needed but 13 points from Kelly led her assembling to a 43-39 victory. When she attacks the rim, one has to watch out for if she will attempt a floater or if she will go directly at the basket. Even if there are a number of defenders waiting to halt Kelly in her tracks, she will still ferociously drive to the rim with fearlessness. Defensively, she can set up in the interior and has no problems drawing contact to get to the free throw line.

Brewer was another of the standout names from Friday evening's get-together between [program_tooltip program_id='715436' first='Grind' last='To Shine (GTS) Basketball'] 15U and One Step Away Select 2030. She aided the Grind To Shine cause with a nine-point performance. Brewer was another of the names representing a 3A Troup County team that concluded its 2025-26 campaign with a solid 22-7 record. A midrange jump shot is one element of her offensive repertoire. Defensively, she consistently keeps her eyes on the ball and all thrives as a transition playmaker. Brewer is one of several Tigers representatives on this year's Grind To Shine squad.

One Step Away Select 2030's weekend at Peach Games may have began inauspiciously by virtue of an overtime defeat to [program_tooltip program_id='715436' first='Grind' last='To Shine (GTS) Basketball'] 15U but Melvin still put up an impressive performance with 12 points. Melvin was especially effective from behind the 3-point line as she was true on four of her tries from distance. Melvin had four of her team's six made 3-pointers that game. Effective rebounding capabilities, keeping one's hands and arms outstretched on defense and calling for the ball are other positive attributes that will ensure Melvin is a name to keep an eye on.

Ford ensured that her One Step Away Select 2030 team was in a spot to win on Friday evening at Marietta HS. Her speed and shiftiness with the ball in her hand can make her particularly tough for defenses to contend with. She also takes a fearless approach to attacking the basket and a 3-point shot is also an element of her offensive repertoire. Defensively, Ford understands the importance of keeping one's hands and arms outstretched. Her playmaking abilities will attract plenty of double teams from opposing defenses. She added nine points to her team's effort in what was an entertaining contest with [program_tooltip program_id='715436' first='Grind' last='To Shine (GTS) Basketball'] 15U.
