I do not watch as much as my counterparts but a big recruiting summer is coming up in exactly a month with the Girls Section-7, where I will be covering as many AIA teams as possible. I wanted to take a look at some of my personal favorite rising juniors and sophomores that have a lot of versatility in their games.

2028's

[player_tooltip player_id='797311' first='Mariah' last='Brownlee'] Millennium

Her picture is in the dictionary for versatility for the rising juniors as she plays and defends nearly every position on the court from the 1-4 for the deep and talented Tigers. She handles the ball well and can get downhill and score thru contact but then shoot the three off the catch. She rebounds the ball and will also take it away from you with her motor and quicker hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='1154413' first='Alexandra' last='Mushahwar'] Rancho Solano Prep

A very long and lean wing forward can play and defend a few positions for the small school and score it a variety of ways. She will hit the three calmly or from mid-range but then work inside with advanced post footwork and loves using floaters and then can crash the glass for offensive rebound put backs.

[player_tooltip player_id='797309' first='Amaya' last='Rodgers'] Queen Creek

A double-double machine the second she sets foot on the court and can literally play all five high positions with her rare stronger frame and physicality but then handles the ball like a guard. She has the skill to hit shots from the perimeter but then smartly play off of two-feet and rise up over the defenders or attack the basket at will. She rebounds the ball better than most.

[player_tooltip player_id='870683' first='Anna' last='Manning'] Campo Verde

A good sized wing forward can step over to the off guard spot but then has enough size to get inside and be effective. She has a good looking shooting stroke from the three point line but then will score with floaters and offensive rebound put backs utilizing her size advantages to other wings.

[player_tooltip player_id='927950' first='Elizabeth' last='Guincho'] Paradise Honors

She is a player who you can drop into any AIA team and affect the outcome. She can play with or without the ball in her hands and score it with dribble drives and she does not mind contact in the paint. But it is her defense that makes her unique. For a lead guard she is one of the better rebounders in her class but will also collect steals and make players around her better.

[player_tooltip player_id='992602' first='Mackenzie' last='Fields'] Horizon

Another bigger forward who can play the two-guard position or even a point forward spot for the Huskies in Scottsdale. She makes good reads up the court with real court vision and will score it with transition baskets, dribble drives to the basket, hustle plays inside and perimeter jumpers. She rebounds the ball well and affects winning.

2029's

[player_tooltip player_id='852321' first='Jaiyana' last='Bogan-Jacobs'] Campo Verde

If Mariah is the poster child for the 28 class, Jaiyana is for the rising sophomore class with everything she can do on the floor. I am trying to recall a player who literally affects winning and does nearly every single thing on the court outside of dunking the ball then her. She will take the ball off the glass and often go coast to coast and score it from all levels with jumpers and contested layups with her inner toughness. Her intensity on defense needs to be admired and she will lead the Coyotes back in the playoffs next year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1255336' first='Amaya' last='Ribbens'] Millennium

A match-up nightmare can score it with strong inside takes but then step out and hit the three with ease. She has super soft hands to catch anything thrown her way but then will defend better than most on the inside. She cleans the glass with her mitts and will alter or block shots and outlets the ball about as well as you can.
