All City Series: Williamson County Public Schools (Part 1)

In the public school sector, you are starting to see more girls dive into competition basketball throughout the offseason. Many girls have gotten involved in the travel ball scene, which in turn has led to results that carry over into the regular high school season. Over the past years, we have seen girls go on to play at the next level. From big D1 schools such as Missouri and Arizona State to schools at other levels, Williamson County schools have produced players who have gone on to compete in the collegiate ranks.   One thing I love about Wil Co. basketball is the pageantry. These schools truly don't like each other, and the rivalries are fierce. Bragging rights are at stake, and teams go toe-to-toe with each other as they duke it out on the hardwood. Just like anything else, things come and go in waves. Programs have a window where they make title runs, and then they have to rebuild. There are a few schools that are in a window now that can make some noise deep into the tournament. I'll let you decide which schools they are.   Over the next article or two, I would like to point out some Wil. Co girls who you need to keep tabs on. Without further ado, check these girls in action.    She's a pit bull. A dynamic two-way player who gets it done on both ends of the floor. She's an excellent teammate. A leader. One who steps up without a question. She can score on all three levels, but it's what she does when the ball isn't in her hands that stands out. She's a beast on the defensive end. Creates havoc the full length of the floor. She's a heady ball player who is always cool, calm, and collected. Her teammates feed off her energy, and she produces for her club in multiple ways. She's a standout in this league and one who will get plenty of looks at the next level.     Don't let the size fool you; this young lady gets after it. I love the way she commands an offense. She plays with poise, keeps her head up, and knows when to strike, keeping the defense on its toes. She can knock down the 3-ball, but her ability to get paint touches and distribute is good. She is a solid defender who will make her opponent work. Any time she is on the floor, she gives it her all.     Heading over into a new environment, this young lady is ready to showcase her talents to the public school sector. A heady ballplayer who can do a multitude of things. She is a threat from the catch-and-shoot position; however, she can be aggressive and put the ball on the floor to finish at the rim. She is tough with the ball in her hands and knows how to utilize her body to her advantage. She is great at reading and reacting. She's always in a position to be around or near the basketball. She's a solid ballplayer. One who gets better throughout each contest. Look for her to be an asset for Nolensville. She brings a wide array of talents to a program looking to make a run.     Confident kid who is a marksman from the 3-point line. She lets it fly and one who consistently finds the bottom of the net. Her game has grown over the years, and though her expertise is letting it go from downtown, she won't hesitate to get to the rim if the opportunity presents itself. She is a hard worker. One who will be an asset on both ends of the floor. Whatever is asked of her, she will give it her all. Look for her to show even more interest over the next couple of months. Look for her to be a leader for this Lady Eagles ballclub.     Change of pace combo guard who is a stealthy defender. Offensively, she is an aggressive downhill threat who can score from multiple spots. Defensively, she is a kid who plays with speed and quickness. One who will make her opponent work for everything they do. Talented ballplayer who is going to go at the opponent, leaving nothing to chance. Her game has grown, and she is playing with a lot of confidence. Keep tabs on this young lady, as she is going to help elevate this program to the next level.     A 3 and D type of girl who brings her lunch pail and hard hat to each game. She does the dirty work, from rebounding to blocking shots. It's not about the glory with this young lady, as she just puts her uniform on and gets after it. She can knock down the 3-ball and score inside, but when it comes to eliminating the opposition, she utilizes her length and does her thing. She may not get much pub, but this young lady shows up and does her job effectively every time she steps onto the floor.     A dynamic PG who plays the game with a ton of energy. One who is going to do whatever it takes to win a ball game, she gets after it on both ends of the floor. She can be a distributor, making timely passes. Need a bucket? She can knock down a 3 from deep or get to the rim. She has great length, and she always seems to get her hands on a ball by either getting a steal or a deflection. Her stock has increased over the past year, and collegiate coaches are taking notice. She's one to always keep up with on the floor because her style and play will beat you alone. Talented kid with a lot of upside.
