Section 7 Utah Teams Preview Pt. 1 - Top 4 Brackets

<p>Arizona is once again playing host to some of the West's premier talent this weekend, with powerhouse programs like Bishop Gorman High School and Archbishop Mitty High School among the teams in attendance. The level of competition will be high, providing another opportunity for Utah clubs to test themselves against some of the nation's best.</p>   <p>Here's a look at the Utah teams competing this weekend, where to follow the brackets and scores, and which players could be poised to step up and make a major impact for their teams.</p>   <h1 class="wp-block-heading">CITY OF MESA Division</h1>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Lone Peak</h2>   <p>As arguably the toughest division in Arizona this weekend, two Utah teams will be thrown into the mix with some of the biggest names in high school basketball. Lone Peak High School could find itself facing the nation's No. 1 team, Ontario Christian High School, if both programs advance past their opening games. The winner of that potential showdown would likely be on a collision course with another national powerhouse, Archbishop Mitty High School, currently ranked No. 3 in the country.</p>   <p>What makes Lone Peak especially intriguing this weekend is the addition of nationally ranked talent in [player_tooltip player_id='1360407' first='Nation' last='Williams']. Her presence gives the Knights another level of firepower, and with [player_tooltip player_id='873282' first='Charli' last='Warner'] and [player_tooltip player_id='952625' first='Peyton' last='Warner'] creating opportunities and keeping her fed, along with [player_tooltip player_id='804252' first='Madeline' last='Pope'] as an additional scoring threat, this is a team capable of surprising people. Their size, skill, and playmaking ability give them a chance to compete with anyone in the field if they can put all the pieces together.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pleasant Grove</h2>   <p>Pleasant Grove High School returns a large portion of the core that went undefeated and captured a state championship this past season, giving the Vikings plenty of continuity heading into summer competition. While they have some gaps to fill after losing key pieces, this weekend presents an opportunity for several younger players to step into expanded roles and gain valuable experience.</p>   <p>As always, the spotlight will be on [player_tooltip player_id='873276' first='Sutton' last='Villa']. College coaches will continue to track one of the nation's top recruits, and opposing teams will once again be searching for answers to her size and versatility. [player_tooltip player_id='832982' first='Reagan' last='Lambourne'] could see an increased role this weekend, but a few names to watch are [player_tooltip player_id='873279' first='Siri' last='Burgess'], [player_tooltip player_id='1049025' first='Amaiya' last='Kennerley'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1246467' first='Ruby' last='Mosman']. Siri, in particular, has shown tremendous growth this spring and could emerge as one of the sleeper talents in the bracket.</p>   <p>If Pleasant Grove advances out of its opening game, the road gets considerably tougher with a potential matchup against nationally ranked Etiwanda High School, currently ranked No. 10 in the country. It would be another measuring-stick game for a Pleasant Grove program that has shown it can compete with anyone.</p>   <h1 class="wp-block-heading">Delano Family Division</h1>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Skyridge</h2>   <p>Skyridge High School is the lone Utah representative in this division, one that notably does not feature any nationally ranked top-20 teams. That could create an opportunity for the Falcons to make a strong run and build momentum heading into the high school season.</p>   <p>Several players appear poised to be key anchors for this group. With balance throughout the lineup and a mix of experience and emerging talent, Skyridge should be positioned for a solid showing this weekend.</p>   <h1 class="wp-block-heading">John Dawson Foundation Division</h1>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Westlake</h2>   <p>As the only Utah team in this division, consistency will be the biggest factor for this group. Which version of the team shows up from game to game could determine just how far they can go this weekend.</p>   <p>Westlake High School returns several key pieces from last season, including [player_tooltip player_id='796479' first='Avery' last='Thompson'], [player_tooltip player_id='1248640' first='Brynn' last='Young'], [player_tooltip player_id='829862' first='Isley' last='Sauvao'], [player_tooltip player_id='1038913' first='Katie' last='Cannon'], and [player_tooltip player_id='875183' first='McCoy' last='Larson']. That veteran core gives the Thunder experience, versatility, and a foundation to compete against quality teams.</p>   <p>The addition of several talented younger players could also help Westlake remain a contender in this division and continue building toward the next high school season. Their development and contributions this weekend could provide an early glimpse of the depth and future potential of the Thunder program.</p>   <h1 class="wp-block-heading">OrthoArizona Division</h1>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Dixie Flyers</h2>   <p>Dixie High School made a strong run to the state championship last season, and the group heading to Arizona should have a similar look and feel. The Flyers return a core that knows how to win and has experience playing in big moments.</p>   <p>The engine of this team starts with the players who take care of the ball and keep the offense organized. The addition of new talent, including [player_tooltip player_id='1870838' first='Sam' last='Yates'], also gives Dixie another piece that can help fill some of the gaps left from last season and add depth to an already solid lineup.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Ridgeline</h2>   <p>As one of the most cohesive teams returning to the floor, Ridgeline High School brings plenty of upside into Arizona. Both have proven they can impact games in multiple ways and will be focal points on every scouting report. Ridgeline missed her presence, and getting her back in the lineup could provide an immediate boost.
