2027s to Know Heading Into the Final Live Period

The final live period is nearly here, and the end of the 2026 grassroots season is right around the corner. As of right now, I believe 18 players in the 2027 class have committed to schools, with more to come in the coming weeks and months. Today, we'll look at a handful of players who have not yet announced what their plans are for next steps in their playing careers. We'll look at more players for coaches to see over the next week as we get closer to the live period, but we will start with the 2027s tonight.    The Edgewood wing is a Swiss-Army knife who can do a little of everything on both ends of the court. I love her defensive versatility and the edge she brings to the court in her minutes. I've also thought that she's shown some tools on the offensive end that may help her look better than people expect at the next level. She can fit into any role a coach may need, and Thompson will find a way to be valuable in that role.     The Pacelli guard helped lead her Cardinals team to a state title in D5 last March, and had a triple-double in that game. Zdroik also poses problems for defenses because she's a physical guard who will get into the paint and overpower her defender, given she has a mismatch. Her shot also looks a little funky, but she's a solid enough shooter where you can't leave her alone on the perimeter.     The Kenosha native is an under-the-radar player with the tools to be a productive two-way player in her own way. Coaches never need to run a set for her, because her motor allows her to get second-chance points by attacking the offensive boards. She's also a versatile defender who can slide her feet on the perimeter to stay in front of guards, and has the physicality to defend post players around the basket.     The Neillsville guard hunts her shot from all three levels and scores in volume. Davel is also an athletic guard who can move well laterally on the perimeter and stay in front of guards. Her high school team will play in a zone, but she has the athletic tools to be a solid defender. She's comfortable being the focal point of an offense in the backcourt, but I think she can slot into a more creative role with more talent around her at the next level.
