Live Week Notes and Observations: Pro16 and around the State.

As we continue our look at players who made an impact during the July evaluation period, we highlight more under-the-radar prospects who turned productive performances into increased recruiting attention. Whether they stood out this past weekend or during the opening July Live period, each player continued to build momentum and demonstrate why college coaches are taking notice.    Jalis Jones is a tall, linky prospect whom I first saw last year at the Orange Park holiday tournament. The young forward has continued to develop since then. She impacts the game in numerous ways. She attacks defenders off the dribble with confidence and uses a smooth euro step to finish around the basket. Jones can also stretch the floor with her ability to knock down shots from beyond the three-point line, making her a difficult matchup. She runs the floor well in transition, consistently creating scoring opportunities before the defense gets set. Her court vision stands out, as she sees plays develop and delivers accurate passes to teammates. With her combination of size, skill, and basketball IQ, Jones has the versatility to make an impact in multiple areas of the game. She is poised for a special junior season next year.     Carinne Washington is a poised and versatile 5-foot-7 guard who can effectively play multiple backcourt positions. She handles the ball with confidence, makes smart decisions, and keeps the offense organized while creating opportunities for herself and her teammates. She attacks the paint with finesse, finishes through contact, and has consistently proven she can knock down shots from the perimeter. At the PRO16, her ability to read the game and make the right play stood out, while defensively she showed the strength to compete against bigger players and the quickness to stay in front of opposing ball handlers, making her a dependable two-way guard.     [player_tooltip player_id='400813' first='Asiana' last='McCreary'] wrapped up her final AAU season, showing she can thrive in multiple styles of play. Throughout the live period, she proved she is comfortable operating on the wing in a five-out offense, handling perimeter responsibilities while still using her length and athleticism to impact the game. Defensively, McCreary has the versatility to match up with bigger post players or slide out and defend opposing wings with equal effectiveness. Her expanded skill set and ability to adapt to different roles have continued to attract college interest. Now entering her senior season, McCreary is positioned to make a major impact while embracing an even greater leadership role for her team.     [player_tooltip player_id='1036691' first='Ava' last='Bruno'] made a few plays at the Pro16, but didn't get to see much of the guard. Bruno had a really productive summer, including a few offers and a standout performance at the Livingston college camp in Jacksonville. Her speed and explosiveness stood out there, and she has always made a few splash plays when I watched her high school team play. She can handle the ball, shoot the three, and has athleticism and creativity in her skillset as well. Coaches, don't sleep on the guard who could play a big role next season     [player_tooltip player_id='1707699' first='Alyssa' last='De Jesus'] was a joy to watch, bringing relentless energy and effort every time she stepped on the floor. She played with very good instincts, always seeming to be around the basketball and getting the ball to her playmakers. De Jesus handled the ball with confidence, applied constant pressure on the defense, and embraced the role of a true workhorse. Rather than forcing shots, she consistently made the extra pass, keeping the offense flowing and putting the ball in the hands of their playmakers. Her unselfish approach, court awareness, and high motor made her a valuable contributor throughout the game.
