As the summer comes to a close, it's a good time to look back at the teams that caught my attention throughout FABC, team camps, college camps, and showcase events. Several programs in the State strengthened their case as legitimate contenders, and one team that continued to leave an impression was Ribault. The Trojans showcased depth, versatility, and playmakers at nearly every position, with players capable of impacting the game on both ends of the floor. After watching them at the Wildcat Shootout, Ribault had firmly entered the conversation as one of the First Coast's top teams heading into the upcoming 2026 season. The one accomplishment still missing is a state championship, and this year's team gives her a legitimate opportunity to chase that goal. She pushes the pace, creates for teammates with her passing, and has the ability to take over offensively when needed. Simply put, she is one of the area's premier all-around players.     Kamiya Leroy was one of the most versatile players I watched all summer. She has the ability to impact the game in a variety of ways, whether handling the ball, attacking the basket, or making plays for her teammates. Leroy is at her best when she gets downhill and into the paint, where her athleticism, body control, and finishing ability allow her to consistently pressure the defense. She also has the versatility to play multiple positions, making her a valuable piece on both ends of the floor.    .    Gabby Mallory elevated her game throughout the summer and was one of the biggest standouts I saw at the Wildcat Shootout in Camden. Based on her production and impact on both ends of the floor, she was arguably one of the top five performers at the event. Mallory scores from the mid-range, attacks the basket with confidence, runs the floor well in transition, and brings a physical presence on both ends of the court. Defensively, she protects the paint, blocks shots, rebounds, and impacts the game in numerous ways. Her summer performance left a lasting impression, and showed the growth that takes a team from good to very good. She does an excellent job of running the offense, setting the tone defensively, and keeping teammates involved. Wilson can knock down the three-point shot, create scoring opportunities for herself, and showed that she could consistently make the right basketball play. Her unselfishness and leadership stood out, but opponents can't afford to relax because she is fully capable of making plays herself. The young prospect has the potential to become one of the top players in her class. She plays with poise beyond her years, can handle the ball in transition, run the point, score on the wing, attack the basket, and consistently knock down the mid-range jumper. Add in her athleticism, defensive versatility, and continued development, and she gives Ribault a player who can impact winning in a lot of different ways.
