Ava Bruno Ava Bruno 5'8" | PG/SG Cardinal Mooney | 2027 State FL is coming off a 3A state championship season, where she played behind several veteran players who have since moved on to the next level. This travel season, Bruno stepped into a starting role and showcased her experience, competitive nature, and most importantly, her ability to shoot the ball. Over the summer, she displayed her talent for playing true 3&D basketball, which drew even more attention at our PGH FL Expo from both scouts and college coaches. With an increased role and growing confidence in her shot, Bruno is poised to compete as one of the best shooters in the state this season.

Ava displayed outstanding poise and skill throughout the showcase and stood out as a true floor general with deep shooting range and confident ball control. She showed unlimited range from beyond the arc when knocking down shots effortlessly while keeping defenders honest. With the ball in her hands, Ava controlled the tempo of the game and showcased excellent court vision by delivering precise passes with great touch in transition. Her ability to score from distance while facilitating for others makes her a dynamic and reliable playmaker.

Ava can hit the outside shot and does a nice job of handling the ball. She has some solid length on her frame which allows her to rise up and shoot over defenders. Her ability to elevate gives her an advantage when scoring from within 15 feet on those runners and floaters she loves to knock down.

She’s disruptive on defense, using her length to force turnovers and applying relentless pressure—often picking up full court and staying in her matchup’s personal space. Offensively, she sprints out in transition and consistently knocks down the three, having already hit several clutch shots this travel season to either take the lead or force overtime. Ava plays hard and fast, yet remains controlled on both ends of the floor.
