Northwood Team Camp Underclassmen Perform Well Pt 2

Underclassmen often play supporting roles while adjusting to the speed and physicality of the varsity level, but several young players showed they are ready for bigger responsibilities at the Northwood Team Camp. Whether they were making timely shots, creating opportunities for teammates, defending multiple positions, or providing a spark with their energy and effort, these underclassmen consistently made winning plays throughout the weekend. Their performances not only helped their teams compete but also offered an early glimpse of the impact they could have during the upcoming high school season.    Haley, a sophomore guard for Salem, put together a solid performance on Sunday at the Northwood Team Camp with her ability to impact the game in multiple ways. She showed confidence as a perimeter shooter, knocking down shots from beyond the arc and helping stretch the defense. Haley also attacked the rim with purpose, delivering a strong slashing finish through contact that resulted in an and-one opportunity. On the defensive end, she brought a scrappy, high-energy presence, competing hard and making things difficult for opposing guards. Her blend of perimeter scoring and toughness gives her value in Salem's backcourt rotation.     Addison, a sophomore guard for Howell, turned in a strong all-around performance on Sunday at the Northwood Team Camp, making her presence felt on both ends of the floor. Defensively, she applied consistent pressure, coming away with a steal that she converted into a coast-to-coast finish. Offensively, she showed confidence from the perimeter by knocking down a three-pointer and attacked the basket with purpose, using strong drives to create scoring opportunities. Addison's ability to defend, score at multiple levels, and play with an aggressive mindset makes her an important piece for Howell heading into the season.     Braelyn, a sophomore wing for Freeland, put together an impressive performance on Sunday at the Northwood Team Camp, using her athleticism and length to impact the game in several areas. She attacked the basket with confidence, finishing strong at the rim while consistently putting pressure on the defense. On the glass, Braelyn was relentless, collecting multiple offensive rebounds and converting second-chance opportunities, including one possession where she earned a trip to the free-throw line after fighting through contact. Defensively, her length allowed her to contest shots, disrupt passing lanes, and make life difficult for opposing players. Braelyn's activity on both ends of the floor gives Freeland another versatile weapon heading into the season.     Mia, a sophomore guard for Powers Catholic, made her presence felt on Sunday at the Northwood Team Camp with her relentless effort and high-energy style of play. She set the tone defensively, applying constant pressure and competing on every possession. Offensively, Mia attacked the basket with confidence, using strong drives to get into the paint and finish at the rim. Her motor never seemed to slow down, and the energy she brought on both ends of the floor provided a spark for her team throughout the game. Mia's toughness and aggressive approach make her an important piece for Powers Catholic moving forward.       Julia, a freshman guard for Freeland, proved to be a strong addition to an already talented backcourt during Sunday's action at the Northwood Team Camp. She showed an ability to space the floor by knocking down shots from beyond the arc and also displayed confidence attacking off the dribble, finishing well on slashing drives to the rim. With the ball in her hands, she played with composure and poise beyond her years, making solid decisions in the flow of the offense. Julia also made her presence felt on the glass and competed hard defensively, showing a tough, physical edge on that end of the floor. Her all-around effort gives Freeland another promising piece moving forward.
