Here are a few athletes out of Iowa & Nebraska that have recently been offered or they have recently committed to compete at the next level following their impressive AAU seasons this Summer.

Every player listed has shown off their skill-set over the years with their varsity high school team and that has helped them prove to recruiters that they have what it takes to suit up at the next level following their high school careers. Make sure to check them out if you have a moment on the road this next month!

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

Macey O'Brien is off the board to Chicago State to continue on with her basketball career at the next level. Chicago State was the school that first believed in O'Brien by throwing her an offer a couple of years ago. Since then, O'Brien has gotten better with time and experience as a PG/SG and as an overall competitor. She still stands at 5'10 and she still makes everyone else around her better with her playmaking ability on and off of the ball. This is a lengthy guard, who has had to carry the workload most of her time on the hardwood for her squads but this AAU season has been different and it's going to be much different once she gets on campus in Chitown. She is going to be surround by some others that know the game at a high level and that's going to help her take things up a notch as well.

I'm not sure who is going to snag Quinn Osgood but whoever it is, is getting a player who might be able to come in and change your program for the better throughout her collegiate career. This is a HIGH level shooter with natural game IQ. She is at her best when she plays off of the ball and she is looking to be aggressive on offense but she can also slow things down if her team wants the pace of play to relax throughout. Defensively, she is really good at jumping to the ball in real time and she isn't afraid to get her hands dirty when loose ball opportunities present themselves. Like I hinted too above, some people are sleeping on Osgood. She is going to be a productive D2 player over the next five seasons. She recently received an offer from Upper Iowa and I'm sure that won't be the last as we move into the exciting month of travel season in July!

Everyone could learn a thing or two about how to navigate the recruitment process by how Callie Hales and her corner have done so over the last three years. When Hales first came on as a Freshman - she had promise and potential. She played with a controlled attitude, produced for her team's in every way possible, and she demonstrated that she can make everyone else around her better without having to score the ball. She started out as a Top 35 player out of her 2027 Class. She didn't have D1 offers or interest as a Freshman or Sophomore but she kept getting better and proving to everyone watching that she knows what she is doing and she is going to continue to trust the process. Well, look where it has led her. She is now a D1 committed PG, ranked within the Top 15 of this loaded Class, and she is ready to give it all she has for her Senior year at Gilbert High School these next 8 months. I don't know about you but that's what I call executing a game-plan to perfection. We don't see it happen too often but when it does, it's special and that's what we have here.

D2 - Williams Jewell has made it known that they want Lizzie Beam on their team in the future with their recent offer to the 2027 SG. Beam has been a rising star out of the DSM area the last couple of years. She really stood out for her first time at one of our PGH events and from there, she has been killing it at a high level. Such a high level that she helped her team to the 5A State Tournament last season out of NOWHERE. The reason that Beam stands out is because of how well rounded she is. She can do several things for your team as a producer. She can do the obvious of scoring and things of that nature but she also rebounds, gets loose balls at a high rate, she causes chaos defensively, and she can size up or down to stick with an opponent in the open court. I think we are going to see Beam put on another master class this season as a Senior. By that time she might be committed as well but we will just have to wait and see.

The state of Iowa didn't really get a fair look at Yasanna Love Smith last season at SE Polk as a Freshman but when you see her compete with ample minutes at a time - she is a standout on whichever floor you put her on. This upcoming Winter everyone will get a better feel for Smith as she takes over the DSM Lincoln program. She will be their starting PG and she is going to have some eye-opening stat lines throughout the season if she plays her game to its full capabilities. She should have free range to make that team her own so I can't wait to see how that all goes down. She currently has interest from a handful of D1 programs across the Country and that interest is only going to grow with time/experience. I wouldn't even be shocked if she pulled in a few offers or locked in some on campus visits this Fall because of how well she produces in July on the road. She just has to stay confident in her work and the rest will be history before you know it.

Addison Medeck, the #1 rated 2027 in Nebraska, has made her decision where to play following this upcoming Senior season and that is going to be with the Cornhuskers of Nebraska. This is a BIG get for Nebraska. Literally and metaphorically. Medeck is an efficient playmaker under the bucket with great size and strength. As long as her team gets her a little opening with timing and space on offense, her attempt is usually going to be good. They will be able to do that at the next level. This also speaks to Amy Williams and the staff in Lincoln. They keep the state's best prospects actually IN the state and that is something that most other big programs can't say. Especially within the P4, Big 10 level.
