2027 Forwards Impress at Alma Elite Camp

The 2027 class had a strong showing at the Alma Elite Camp on Sunday afternoon, with several forwards making their presence felt throughout the day. The camp gave players the opportunity to work through skill stations, compete in drills, and finish the afternoon with 5-on-5 action. The forward group showed a nice mix of size, skill, toughness, and versatility, with several players finding ways to impact the game on both ends of the floor. Here are a few of the 2027 forwards who caught my attention throughout the camp.    Bailey, a forward with an offer from Alma, put together a strong showing at the Alma Elite Camp. She displayed excellent footwork during the skills session and carried that same touch around the basket into the 5-on-5 action. Bailey can finish effectively with either hand and was active on the glass throughout the afternoon. She also showed the ability to stretch the floor, knocking down shots from beyond the arc and giving defenders another element to account for. Her performance provided another strong look at why Alma has already extended an offer to the 2027 forward.     Jaleesa, a post player, showed her strength and physicality throughout the Alma Elite Camp. She used her strength well around the basket, battling for position and making her presence felt on the glass at both ends of the floor. During the 5-on-5 action, Jaleesa came away with several offensive rebounds that she converted into putbacks, while also protecting the rim with a few blocks. She also displayed polished footwork during the skills session, giving a glimpse of the skill set she can bring to the interior. Her combination of strength, rebounding, and interior defense made for a solid showing.     Lydia, a 2027 forward, showcased her versatility as an inside-out threat at the Alma Elite Camp. She displayed a strong skill set during the drills, handling the ball well and finishing with confidence around the basket. Lydia also showed her shooting ability during the shooting portion, knocking down shots from the perimeter. In the 5-on-5 action, she was active on the glass, delivered an excellent pass in transition, and split defenders before finishing at the rim. Lydia also showed her defensive versatility, proving capable of guarding both inside and on the perimeter. Her combination of skill, versatility, and ability to impact multiple areas of the game made for an impressive showing.       Savanna, a forward who already holds an offer from Alma, put together a strong showing at the Alma Elite Camp. During the 5-on-5 action, she attacked the basket with confidence and showed her toughness by finishing through contact. Savanna also displayed her shooting ability by knocking down a three from the wing, while remaining active on the glass throughout the afternoon. Her ability to score through contact, stretch the floor, and rebound gave her several ways to contribute during the 5-on-5 action.     Brooklynn, a forward, made a strong impression at the Alma Elite Camp, particularly during the defensive skill session. She communicated well and showed a strong understanding of how to defend, standing out with her activity and awareness. That defensive intensity carried into the 5-on-5 action, where she rebounded well and consistently ran the floor for transition opportunities. Brooklynn finished effectively with both hands around the basket and showed she can handle the ball in the open floor, including pushing the break after defensive rebounds. She also displayed poise under pressure with a nice retreat dribble when defenders applied pressure. Her defensive presence, rebounding, and ability to contribute in transition made for an impressive showing.       MaryGrace, a forward, showed a nice combination of scoring and rebounding during the Alma Elite Camp. In the 5-on-5 action, she made a strong slash to the basket and finished the play at the rim, then followed it up with a smooth mid-range jumper. MaryGrace also stayed active on the glass, doing a good job securing rebounds and giving her team extra possessions. Her ability to score in different areas while contributing on the boards made for a solid showing.
