Grand Valley Elite Camp Showcases 2030 Talent

Grand Valley hosted another outstanding Elite Camp on Tuesday evening, drawing a tremendous turnout as players from across the state came to learn from the back-to-back national champions. The camp was well organized from start to finish, with the coaching staff explaining each drill before Grand Valley's players demonstrated the skills and techniques, giving campers a clear example before putting them into action. The evening also featured competitive 5-on-5 games, with the campers divided into six teams coached by Grand Valley players. The Class of 2030 was well represented throughout the camp, with several young players taking advantage of the opportunity to compete against older players and showcase their developing skill sets. Here are a few of the 2030 players who caught my attention and made an impression throughout the evening.    Carmen, a point guard for Team 5, made a strong impression at the Grand Valley Elite Camp with her poise and ability to make plays on both ends of the floor. She showed good decision-making with the ball in her hands, using her handle to navigate pressure and create opportunities for her teammates. Carmen displayed solid court vision and passing ability, consistently making smart reads to keep the offense moving. Defensively, she was active and disruptive, coming away with several steals while using her hands effectively to pressure opposing players. Her combination of ball skills, playmaking, and defensive effort stood out for a member of the 2030 class.     Kaylin, a guard for Team 2, showcased a versatile game at the Grand Valley Elite Camp, contributing on both ends of the floor. She was active defensively, using her quickness and strong hands to make things difficult for opposing players. Offensively, Kaylin knocked down shots from beyond the arc and used her shifty ball-handling to create separation, including a quick crossover that allowed her to get by her defender. She also finished well around the basket and showed her toughness on the glass, grabbing an offensive rebound and converting the second-chance opportunity into a putback. Her ability to impact the game in multiple areas made for a strong showing.     Di'Lisia, a guard for Team 2, showcased her quickness and defensive toughness at the Grand Valley Elite Camp. She was a difficult matchup on the perimeter, using her speed and active defense to pressure opposing guards. With the ball in her hands, Di'Lisia displayed good handles and the ability to attack downhill, using her quickness to get past defenders and create opportunities in the lane. Her defensive intensity and ability to put pressure on the basket made for a solid showing from the 2030 guard.     Irelynn, a guard for Team 3, showed poise and confidence with the ball at the Grand Valley Elite Camp. She handled pressure well, staying composed when defenders applied pressure and using a smooth retreat dribble to create space and reset the possession. Irelynn also displayed good court vision, delivering a couple of quality passes to teammates throughout the evening. On the defensive end, she competed with toughness and made her presence felt by consistently challenging the opposition. Her ball-handling and composure stood out for a young guard in the 2030 class.       Bailey, a wing for Team 4, showed her toughness and versatility at the Grand Valley Elite Camp. She did a nice job finishing through contact, displaying strength and composure around the basket. Bailey was also active on the glass, coming away with several offensive rebounds and converting some of those extra possessions into putback scores. She also showed she can stretch the floor, knocking down a shot from beyond the arc. Her combination of physicality, rebounding, and shooting gave her several ways to contribute throughout the evening.
