The depth of talent in the 2030 class was impressive at the 2026 Prep Girls Hoops Freshmen Showcase and that was definitely the class with the players that made up Team Three. These soon to be freshman showcased a wide variety of skill while playing unselfish basketball and competing hard. Each new class of players continues to impress in Georgia and the kids that make up the 2030 class are no different.

Jimada is a player who I have seen play a good bit of in passing at AAU tournaments, showcases, and other basketball-related functions. For a player going into the ninth grade (South Forsyth), she does a lot of things on the basketball court and well. Aniela is all business, all the time and I think in 2-3 years time she will be one of the better players in her class in Georgia. She is a tireless worker who I have also seen in training sessions at Redline a lot on Sundays. Aniela was very good getting to the basket and finishing, whether that was in transition or the half court and when defenders backed off to prevent the drive, Jimada made them pay shooting the ball from the perimeter. She is a well rounded kid who competes hard every possession and one of the more fundamental and well-rounded freshmen in Georgia.

Williams showed that she had the basketball IQ to go along with her great size and obvious skill. Sometimes you can tell that players watch a lot of basketball and I would have to imagine Kamiyah falls into that category. One of the more impressive plays she made was out of the pick and roll where she was hit pretty hard but finished through the contact drawing the foul and completing the And 1. There was no hesitation when she caught the basketball and she put the ball in the basket both inside and outside of the paint. Williams beat her defender baseline twice in the game I saw, once finishing with a smooth reverse lay up and the other ending with her at the free throw line. Williams also knocked down a three from the corner after a nice shot fake. At six foot tall already, she has a chance to be ranked in the top ten in this class in Georgia.

Ford did a really nice job for her team on Saturday, especially in transition. Over the course of the four hours I did not see anyone run harder from 10 o'clock all the way through until after 2 o'clock when the showcase ended. She kept working and running when other players started to fade away condition-wise in the afternoon which resulted in a lot of lay ups on the break. When Morgann had the ball in her possession should looked very confident and competent in both 3v3 and 5v5 game play. She played tough, solid defense as well putting a lot of pressure on opposing ball handlers.

It was very clear, very quick that Diamond is a really skilled player on the offensive end of the court, but she was equally effective and impactful on the defensive end as well. Diamond got to the rim when she wanted to and was able to convert shots with both hands impressively. She has a very polished skill set for a kid entering high school and the fact that she took pride competing on both ends of the court bodes well for her future, White rebounded the ball very well from the guard position and showed a lot of toughness after taking a very hard fall. White finished smoothly at the rim with both hands and it was very apparent that she knows the game well already.

It is somewhat rare these days to see a player who has no problem staying in the painted area of the court with no need to desire to play out on the perimeter. If it works, then don't fix it and it was working inside for Kori. She looked taller than 5'8 to me and definitely played that way. Leake displayed very good movement and foot work to go along with her size, utilizing a very nice spin move on one play in particular. Kori worked hard on the boards and rebounded the ball very well, especially on the offensive end. Leake showed that she was than capable of scoring from the perimeter on a few occasions, the most impressive being a really nice step back jumper she knocked down.

Fletcher had a very good day where she distributed the basketball well over the course of the event to both her 3v3 and 5v5 team. In an event that was all about the individuals there and not about the teams they were on, Fletcher shined with her unselfish play. Her best skill (and it is a skill) was keeping her head up while she was handling the basketball which allowed her find her open teammates consistently. It is another thing getting the basketball to them on time and in a position to score and Claire did just that whether it was kicking the ball ahead for an easy score in transition or driving, drawing, and dishing the ball out for three in the halfcourt. Fletcher was also very good getting her team extra possessions by getting multiple steals and offensive rebounds.

Manuel, I thought, was one of the better and more competent ball handlers at the event. Not only did she appear to have the basketball on a string, but Manuel also did a great job keeping her head up and showed very good vision delivering the ball on time and in position to score all day long on Saturday. She looks like a player that can already adapt and fit in with ease in a lot of scenarios, including at a big showcase like this without having to try and score the ball every other possession. Fletcher did, however, end the first half of one game scoring as the time expired on the clock. Another player who I think has a very bright future in the game and I look forward to seeing again.
