With that being the case, it is also when the athletic calendar starts with an emphasis on volleyball and football.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Even though the tip-off of the 2026-27 basketball season is still a few months away, there are still plenty of hoops to be played – mostly in the form of showcase events. These include our very own Prep Girls Hoops Carolinas Freshman Showcase (Aug. 30) and Expo (Sep. 6).&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Those showcase events as well as recruiting news will take up the bulk of hoops happenings across the Palmetto State between now and November. She was first offered by Flagler last year and also fielded offers from North Greenville, Newberry College and UNC-Pembroke. Foley played her final AAU season with FBC Reign 2027 and is looking ahead to her senior campaign at 5A Ashley Ridge. Last year, Foley averaged 12.3 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game. Wright becomes to the second Bulldog to announce her commitment just this month as she will keep her many hoops talents in-state at Converse. Wright was first offered to become a Valkyrie last month and also fielded two other in-state offers from Denmark Tech and Lander. She already has a pair of state championships on her resume during her time in Camden black and Vegas gold and is looking to add one more as coach Lewis Mungo's Bulldogs return to 3A after a pair of seasons in the 4A ranks. A few months later, the frontcourt force of 5A Mauldin has repaid that offer with a commitment. Four in-state schools - Anderson, Converse, Claflin and Lander - also extended offers in her direction. McIver will be heading into the college ranks with at least one state championship as part of her resume as she was part of the 2023 Mavericks team that was the final 5A assembling standing. Last season, McIver guided Mauldin to the 5A Division 1 Upper State championship game. Hartwell is reportedly down to her final three schools – Iowa, Georgia and Virginia Tech – and she has visits planned to all three schools next month. She recently concluded her grassroots career running with AEBL and is preparing for her senior season in a 4A Westside uniform. Hartwell competed in all 29 contests last season for a Rams team that finished with a record of 27-2 and were once again 4A Upper State champions. The latest Power Four offers she has fielded has come courtesy of premier national powers in Louisville and Tennessee. When watching Dates play, one can see why many a college coach – including Jeff Walz and Kim Caldwell – wants Dates in one of their uniforms once her high school days are in the books. Dates is coming off a 2026 AAU season with FBC United and is looking ahead to her sophomore campaign with 5A Goose Creek. Bostick was one of two top-tier prospects from South Carolina that fielded a Gardner-Webb offer this past week. She is looking ahead to her sophomore campaign at 4A South Florence, but before that happens her athletic calendar has already commenced with the Bruins' volleyball team. The AEBL product adds the Gardner-Webb offer to previous ones she fielded from North Alabama, Furman, Denmark Tech and Presbyterian. A product of Carolina Hornets United which played on the Nike EYBL circuit, Barlow also secured offers from Queens University, Presbyterian and Furman. Barlow competed in 25 contests last season for a Dorman team that reached the 5A Division 1 Upper State semifinals in 2025-26. She is set to begin her junior campaign with the Cavaliers. Barlow averaged 8.4 points, 2.5 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game last season. She played up in class on the 17U Carolina Hornets United team.
