SC Recruiting Notebook for 8/3

The last few months were another active one on the travel circuit and in terms of transfers. It will not be long before tip off of the 2026-27 high school basketball season takes place.    While the grassroots campaign of 2026 may be in the record books, there will still be plenty of basketball being played between now and November. This includes the upcoming Prep Girls Hoops Carolinas Freshman Showcase and Expo as well as the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (SCBCA) Elite Camp.    Over the next several months, there will be increased attention on the 2027 senior class as they inch closer to commitment decisions. There was a commitment made over the past week, and a few prospects throughout the Palmetto State do have a few more offers to mull over.     The commitment was courtesy of 3A Camden as Jefferson announced on the first Sunday of August that she will stay in-state to play her collegiate ball at Lander. Jefferson recently wrapped up her grassroots career with AEBL 17U. She was originally offered by Lander back in February. Jefferson would compete in 18 of the Bulldogs' 27 games last season and averaged 12.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 steals per contest. Jefferson has played at the high school varsity level since she was a seventh grader and is already a two-time state champion with Camden. She will search for a third as Camden returns to 3A competition after spending the last two seasons in the 4A ranks.      Levey landed one of the first offers of the previous week when she secured an in-state get courtesy of SC State. She added this offer to previous looks she received from Converse, Claflin and Spartanburg Methodist. Regardless of where she goes, she will be entering the college ranks with at least two state championships during her time at 5A Berkeley and will look to earn a third before she calls it a career as a Stag. Levey recently closed the book on her club career playing at the Nike Nationals in Chicago with Palmetto 76ers/A'ja Wilson Elite. Levey would average 10 points, 5.5 rebounds and a block per game in the 26 games she played last season for Berkeley.      Rogers proudly sports the red and black of Westwood and received an offer this past week from a university with a similar color scheme – Winston Salem State. When the 2026-27 season commences, Rogers and her Redhawks will return to the 4A ranks after competing the last couple of seasons as a 5A Division 2 combatant. She played the previous AAU season with Palmetto Pressure which closed out its season at the Insider Exposure Summer Slam in Greensboro. Rogers played in all 28 contests last season at Westwood while averaging 12.6 points and 1.9 steals per game. She was one of three from the class of 2028 on last season's Redhawks team.      Since McKinnon's freshman season at Dillon, the Wildcats have compiled a record of 65-13 – plus a 3A Lower State championship two seasons ago. McKinnon is preparing for her swan song season in Wildcats gold and black and now has an offer from Oklahoma City University to think about. Last season, McKinnon competed in 26 contests while averaging 18.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.3 steals and 4.6 steals per contest. When the 2026-27 season tips off in November, Dillon will move from the 3A ranks to the 2A realm. McKinnon was one of two from the class of 2027 on last season's Wildcats team that finished 23-3 and went a perfect 10-0 in its region.      Since the 2025-26 season concluded, Bostick had landed offers from Denmark Tech and Furman. She also had a previous offer from Presbyterian on her resume. Recently, Bostick was able to add North Alabama to the list of schools that have extended offers in her direction. Bostick concluded her 2026 travel season running with AEBL. She has also played volleyball throughout her athletic career and has played at the high school varsity basketball level since she was an eighth grader. Bostick played in 28 games last season and averaged a double-double of 22.3 points and 10.1 rebounds plus three steals a game as she led her South Florence team to the 4A Lower State championship game.      One of the names to watch among the 2030 class, Glenn recently secured an in-state offer courtesy of Lander. Glenn is wrapping up her middle school career with Fishers MS and first wore a Legacy Early College uniform at the South Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (SCBCA) Live Camp back in June. During the spring and summer months of grassroots ball, she wore the FBC Youngunz 14U uniform and played on the Under Armour circuit. Last year's Lions concluded its 2025-26 season with a 15-7 record and are set to rejoin the South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) as a 3A participant.      Anderson has previous experience with Legacy Early College and now proudly wears the uniform of 4A Fountain Inn during the high school season. Recently, Rust College – a Mississippi-based HBCU extended an offer in the direction of the Fury's frontcourt force. It is the first offer that Anderson has received. Her 2026 travel season was spent running with Palmetto 76ers/A'ja Wilson Elite. Anderson would compete in all 27 games last season for a Fountain Inn team that concluded last season with a 15-12 overall record. She was one of only two from the class of 2029 on last season's Fury team.      Speaking of Palmetto 76ers/A'ja Wilson Elite prospects, that description also applies to Cooper. She recently secured an in-state Division I offer courtesy of Presbyterian. Cooper previously played at North Central and will embrace a higher statewide profile playing at coach Lewis Mungo's Camden. Frontcourt depth has been one of the keys to the Bulldogs' success over the years and Cooper is poised to continue that theme at Culp Court. Cooper is a worthwhile addition to a Camden team that played the last couple of seasons in the 4A ranks and qualified for the Upper State semifinals last season. The Bulldogs are set to rejoin the 3A classification when play resumes in November.      As Flemming is set to begin her seventh-grade season, she has already secured her first Division I offer courtesy of Presbyterian. Flemming landed the offer following her participating in an elite camp at the home of the Blue Hose. Her grassroots career has already included stints with Team Curry, Palmetto Pressure and Palmetto 76ers/A'ja Wilson Elite. A rising name at SCISA 4A Heathwood Hall, Flemming recently joined FBC United Youngunz where she played up in class in the 15U division on the Under Armour circuit. As her career blossoms, one can count on Flemming earning more offers from collegiate programs.
