Bump City Fall League (Week 2)

There was a good mix of games on hand at Oakland Mills High School for the Bump City Fall League. The league host both boys and girls at multiple locations with jv and varsity divisions. Two courts of action at Oakland Mills, I stuck around for several games and saw some good talent on hand. Here are some of the top players that I witnessed.

Indira is a solid division one level player that added a lot of energy to the court. Standing around 5'10" she adds good size at the point guard position. She plays under control even under pressure and with her height she can survey the floor for open cutters and get the pass there. She made plays on both ends of the floor and was one of the better players I saw over the entire weekend.

Tahlia has nice size and for a freshman she is surprisingly strong. She commands space in the paint and gets the ball up high for finishes. With her physicality, she got to the line often and converted on her free throws. She is around 6'2" now but it doesn't seem like she is finish growing as she still has that youth look to her.

Destiny was lockdown on defense and very pesky no matter who she guarded. She is a versatile player showing the ability to play in the perimeter and go mix things up in the paint as well. She shot the ball well from different levels and has a nice midrange pull-up off the dribble. She is unsigned and would be a steal pick up for a smart division one coach.

Natalia is out of Washington HS in West Virginia. She is a really quick lefty with a nice release and form on her shot. She has accurate long range passing with the ability too see the entire floor. She was really tough on defense and shot the ball well. I was impressed with my first viewing of her.

I have been wondering what Ryken had in store for this season and [player_tooltip player_id='1852689' first='Alexa' last='Buckley'] is on the menu. She is a solid player that at 6'2" can step away from the basket and knock down shots with good form all the way out to the three. She moves well up and down the court and it will be interesting if the Knights are able to surround her with a couple other pieces to attack the WCAC season.
