The is a large group of impressive players (enough for multiple articles) who will have a new school listed next to their names on rosters when the season tips off in little over a month. Several players in this article swapped programs within the state, while two big time players from outside of Georgia now call it home as well. Each of these players should have a very meaningful, positive impact on their new teams. Two of them will actually be on the same one at Sandy Creek, joining one of the best returning teams in the state.

Mitchell maybe the best player of all the transfers in this group when it is all said and done. D'Arrah, moving into Atlanta from Nevada, was recently ranked the number 40 prospect in the class of 2028 nationally by SportsCenter Next. I got to watch her play with Sandy Creek at a couple events in June and then with Jason Kidd Select at Spooky Nook with Select Events in July. She can play comfortably and confidently both inside and outside at nearly six feet tall. With the ball skills of a point guard, Mitchell's versatility is her biggest strength. Operating with the ball, Mitchell plays with the poise and precision of an ER surgeon. I expect schools from the SEC and ACC to join her current list of offers sooner, rather than later. Oregon was the latest to offer DD adding to the list that includes UNLV, SMU, Texas Tech, and Cal (Berkley). One of the more dynamic and entertaining players to watch in the state now, as well.

Spears is another very good addition to already loaded Sandy Creek squad featuring the number 5 and 40 players in the 2028 class nationally, [player_tooltip player_id='899789' first='Morghan' last='Reckley'] and DD Mitchell respectively. Spears impressed me during the June scholastic period with her ability to finish at the rim, whether that came in transition or the halfcourt on offense. Spears was able to go over and around defenders while finishing with both hands. Spears jump shot looked good from the midrange where she was able to knockdown several shots. Defensively may be where she can make the biggest contribution and have the biggest impact immediately for Sandy Creek. [player_tooltip player_id='841732' first='Madison' last='Reckley'] is one of the best defenders in Georgia. Spears has a little bit more size and can match up with and neutralize bigger guards on the other wing when needed.

Back home at Jefferson and after inexplicably spending last year spectating more than playing for Hebron, I expect Elle to be the breakout player in the state during the 2026-27 season. She is a kid folks have been aware for a while but hasn't been given the opportunity to show just how good she is. I saw Tennessee United play several times in Greensboro and Elle was dominant at times playing two years up. She is every bit of 6'2 but moves like the wind and can really elevate. She doesn't just block shots; Johnson spikes them or swats them out of bounds. She is extremely quick off her feet with excellent reaction time. Offensively, she finishes very well around the rim and has been working to extend her range to beyond the three-point line. She has several college visits lined up after picking up her first offer from Wofford this Summer.

There is a lot of talent on the roster at Grayson with the large majority of it coming from the youth in that program. I think Taylor is the perfect upperclassmen to come in and lead this group both with her play and also vocally. There is not a more athletic slasher in the 2028 class than Liberal who is as quick as cat at 5'10 with elite leaping ability. She is a quit kid on the court who lets her play do the talking and I think [player_tooltip player_id='1867900' first='Payton' last='Day'] and some of the other players on the roster will benefit greatly from her example. Liberal impacts the game on both ends and rebounds the ball at a high level. She should be the beneficiary of a lot of points in transition from Day with her ability to and willingness to sprint out on the break. She is definitely a kid who can play on the next level in college. D2s, D3s, and NAIA schools in Georgia should have her on their radar.

A very good team in Brunswick that went 23-7 last season will look to replace Martin [player_tooltip player_id='1242017' first='Davis' last=''] who graduated and will be playing for Georgia College and State this winter. Mountain maybe just what the doctor ordered. Mountain is a true dual threat with the basketball at the lead guard position. I have seen her hurt defenses scoring from all three levels as well as in transition. She is one of the quicker players in the state with the basketball in her hands and when she isn't putting the ball in the basket herself, the shifty guard does a great job distributing the ball to her teammates. On a very talented team full of future college players this Spring Ashia was one of the best players during the Peach Games event for Team Elite Hubbard 3SSB. She can get from point a to point b in a flash while maintaining her composure and control. I expect her to fill the same role with a very talented group of returners for the Lady Pirates.

The addition of Foster immediately puts Luella in title contention for me. She is one of the more underrated players in the state that I have seen a good bit of training at Pitts Academy. Potential is the word here. Foster does a lot well already. She is definitely the first player you want walking off the bus and into the gym at nearly 6'3. She has no problem touching the backboard in layup lines either. For her size, Ja'ziyah shoots the ball well from the perimeter also. Her form is a little unorthodox, but she has a very quick release and the ball goes in consistently. She handles the ball very well for a "big" too, bringing the ball up the court herself, sometimes in transition, after blocking shots or grabbing rebounds out of the air. Forster is a work in progress, and I mean that in the best possible way. The finished product could be very special. I expect her to give Luella an anchor defensively and on the boards in the middle with some big offensive performances mixed in.
