Team Previews- Tri Village

One of the more traditional powerhouses in Southwest Ohio are the Tri Village Patriots, who have made their share of nice tournament runs. Just a few years ago, they finished as undefeated state champions, now this year, they look to rely on some younger players and returning seniors to keep their success at a high level. Honored to co-host the Dabbelt Report Lady Patriots Tip-Off Classic with them over Thanksgiving weekend. More on that in November.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

As a starting freshman, she had the role of hitting some perimeter shots, but this year her role will have to increase. She can handle the point, looks to attack the rim and get to the line. She should get into more of a comfort level role for her with the ball in her hands at times. She is a coaches kid and has a lot of responsibilities on her shoulders to be a leader as a sophomore.

She has a lot of experience coming back, and has the ability to be very dangerous with her ability to score from the perimeter. This season, she will be asked to be more of a post presence including defending the post. The lineup is smaller than normal, so her role will be to lock down the post when needed. I think she is able to deal with the physicality of the game fine, expect her to make an impact.

A player who will be a major factor in the rotation with her ability to hit open shots, and excel on the defensive end, likely their top all around defender and can guard multiple positions. May be undersized, is their rebounder and looks to expand her role on the team this year.

Kaley is a very high IQ kid who can also make open shots. Has the skills to be a secondary ball handler for the Patriots when needed. She has been the primary point guard in her previous time on the JV squad so it is not foreign to her. A player who will get her chance to produce and she looks forward to that challenge.

I believe she has the chance to make a big splash this season as a sophomore. Younger sibling to multi-year all-Ohio player now in college, Raegan is super athletic and just needs to get more comfortable of having the basketball in her hands. She can play inside-out but she likes to get out and run the floor and attack in transition. Good finisher and ready for a breakout season.

SLEEPER TO WATCH

Kruz is the top incoming freshman in her conference and one of the very elite in Southwest Ohio. She will have a lot of responsibility this season but is ready for the challenge. Has true point guard skills, pass first kid but can shoot consistently from the perimeter. Needs to relax and just let it fly. Needs to get her shots to help Tri-Village make the big run. On ball defense is very good, quick hands. If she adapts to running all of their sets, she will have a special year.
