About Carsyn
Expert Analysis
Tink Butler | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Carsyn is using the club season to develop nicely. She resisted the urge to play up and stayed her age group which I think was a great decision. The floor time is paying dividends and she is able to showcase some off her skillset without the added pressure. She is strong inside, getting position and finishing well at the rim. If she keeps focus and keep improving at her pace she could be one of the most sought after players in her class by her junior and senior seasons.

Carsyn has good size and stays active in the post, pursuing every rebound with purpose. Whenever she touches the ball, she immediately surveys the rim and looks to make a play, showing confidence and intent. With the Mustangs preparing to feature a pair of freshmen anchoring their post this season, Carsyn is proving she won’t just be watching from the sidelines, she’s positioning herself to make an impact right away.

Carsyn was the most dominant post player at the showcase. Carsyn has a commanding presence standing at a 6’1″ and strong. She is one of a few “True Post Players” left in today’s guard dominant game. Carsyn consistently demonstrated solid footwork and post moves all day. She can score over either shoulder and has good hands which allows her to secure all rebounds and post entry passes. Her most impressive skill is her shot blocking ability. Carsyn had numerous chase down blocks and help side blocks throughout the day. Sky is the limit for this “True Post Player.”

Carsyn dominated the inside and got stronger and stronger as the day continued. She has good hands and was effective in the pick and roll. She rebounded everything in her area and finished really well. She ran the floor on the break to get a basket or clean up a miss. There was no one in the gym that could match her size so it will be good to see how it all translates into the WCAC. With Coach James’ experience working with post players and Coach Butler’s ability to teach so players can relate she is in good hands.
