About Tegan
Expert Analysis
Charles Foster | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Tegan is steadily separating herself as a dominant presence among bigs in her class, stepping into the primary post role at national powerhouse Bishop McNamara. Taking on that responsibility and producing speaks volumes about her growth and readiness to compete at a high level.
Her defensive presence is already well established, anchoring the paint and impacting the game on that end. As she continues to develop, the next step is expanding her offensive game to match that same level of dominance.
Heading into the summer, expect Tegan to make another leap particularly in her offensive progression—as she continues to evolve into a complete force on both ends of the floor.

18 points for the freshman was impressive 8 for 10 from the line was pretty nice as well. Tegan showed some good footwork in the Riverdale Baptist game giving the Mustangs a fourth legitimate scorer. If she can keep up this type of effort next season there will be no limit on what Bishop McNamara can achieve.

Tegan started the game off with a score and got wide open several times slipping in the back door. She was huge on the glass snagging every rebound in her area. She got a clean block shot and altered a couple of others. She is constantly growing into her potential game after game.

Tegan established her dominant defensive presence early against St. John’s as the Mustangs’ primary rim protector. She consistently challenged shots in the paint, blocking at least three attempts that would typically result in easy layups. Her timing and positioning disrupted St. John’s interior offense throughout the game.
This performance reflects Tegan’s continued growth and comfort within her role on the nation’s top-ranked team, where her defensive impact remains a key component of their success.

I visited an open gym before the start of the season and saw one of the McNamara coaches working with Tegan on her free-throws. At that point the form and accuracy both needed tweaking and reps. Now for the results, in the heated part of the game Tegan stepped to the line and nailed both free throws calmly and with perfect form for the lead. She is evidence that the process works if you stick to it.

Tegan used her size with tremendous success in middle school, now the stakes are higher as she will show if things will translate into high school. We aren’t talking any high school we are talking the WCAC conference with the defending champions. She will be learning a lot on the fly but she has the potential to be just as dominant on this level as she has been in middle school.

Tegan has the body and frame to be a dominant player in high school and beyond. It looks like she will be learning fast as she will be depended upon to hold down things in the pant for the Mustangs for the next four years. She is a good finisher by the basket and probably isn’t finished growing. Her ceiling is scary as she may not have a limit to how good she can be.
