Over the next several weeks, prior to the high school season kicking off, we are going to highlight a prospect on each team throughout the state of Iowa, that is vital to the success of their Varsity program over the next six months. To start things off, we are going to lock in with the second biggest Class in the state and that is the 4A Class.
Lower has one of the best shooting abilities throughout the state of Iowa and that's been the case for a few years now. When you pair this ability with her natural height and coordination, you get a D1 athlete and that's where Lower will end up for her collegiate career. At the Division-1 level. For the CCA Clippers to put together another great season following their State Championship, Lower is going to have to play the best ball of her career. Something that will be a challenge but something that is also very do-able.

[player_tooltip player_id='671469' first='Adeeya' last='Yanga'] was featured in a piece recently highlighting her height at the PF position. Yanga is one of the more underrated prospects in the state but don't get it mixed up, she is a competitor who wants nothing more than to make her opponent suffer in the paint. This is a player that everyone has to worry about on opposing teams while they attack the rim or else. For Storm Lake to put together a year better than their expectations, Yanga has to be their piece in the middle they can go to in times of need. If they can find her in those moments and she plays to her strengths, then they are going to love how their season plays out as a whole.

[player_tooltip player_id='788569' first='Madeline' last='Pavelka'] of Marion High School was a staple for her team last Winter, moving all around the floor from the inside to the outside. Pavelka returns to the Wolves lineup this Winter after averaging just under 12 PPG on 44% shooting, while also securing over 7 RPG. She was a leader on her team that produced in big ways during her Junior year and after committing to Wartburg in the off-season, I'm sure she is even more locked in mentally to put together a great Winter. She will be the player that is looked upon to step up to make a stop or to create something out of nothing if her team's offense happens to break down. That makes her extremely vital to their process, when taking a step back and looking at the big picture of their program.

There were several collegiate programs after [player_tooltip player_id='311382' first='Jaelyn' last='Marienau'] of LeMars High School this offseason when she was taking visits, trying to figuring out where her next home was going to be following this Winter. In the end Marienau committed to the Morningside Mustangs, giving that program another solid Iowa commitment looking forward. For the LeMars Bulldogs, Marienau competes at the SG position but at times, she will bring up the ball after a rebound or if their PG is being pressured too much. This ability demonstrates that Marienau can handle and run her team's offensive scheme, if need be throughout a contest. There are a few well rounded individuals alongside her on this roster it looks like but it really will come down to Marienau and her play making ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='1057460' first='Sydney' last='Adams'] seems to standout every time she takes the floor because of her mixture of quick hands, instincts, and fast feet. Each game that Adams plays in, she usually has multiple steals. These steals add up and they lead for more opportunities on the offensive end for herself and her teammates. That's why she is going to be so important to Boone this Winter. Her defensively prowess is something that standout to anyone watching and it's going to help lead her team to a lot of quality wins this 2024-2025 high school season.

The best way to describe [player_tooltip player_id='1057461' first='Sydnee' last='Hopkins'] is that she is a multiple sport athlete, with an act for being in the right place at the right time. This tends to happen when someone works really hard. It's difficult to explain on paper but the harder the player works, the more chances they usually get within the flow of the game and so I think that Hopkin's high motor helps her make winning plays down the stretch. A skill or ability that not all can say they have.
