2028 Player Rankings Update: Stock-Risers

We have a few players that moved up within the Top 25 within this Rankings Update. These prospects have each shown off their skill-sets at a high rate the past few months and that has helped them in their overall recruitment.   Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!    [player_tooltip player_id='1305404' first='Ella' last='Otten'] of Bishop Heelan High School is new to the girls basketball scene within this state but she is starting to slowly gain a reputation as being a top-notch baller. Otten is a quick guard with a better than average skill-set for her position. She is one that is tough to stay in-front of in the open court and she is always a willing passer to those around her. This Winter for BH, this is going to be a vital piece in their success. If Otten is used correctly and plays to her full capabilities, BH should finish as the 4A Class State Champs this Winter but we will see.     Waukee NW is poised to put together a rememberable season at the Varsity level. One of the reasons for that will be their Post play underneath with players like [player_tooltip player_id='880911' first='Victoria' last='Burpo']. Burpo, a 6'0 PF, just received her first D1 offer from down South this past AAU season and she is ready to build on that momentum. Burpo is a handful with a lot of power to back up her skill-set. She is very good at bullying individuals that might be smaller than her next to the basket. If she happens to miss an offensive attempt, her mixture of size and skill is good enough to get her own rebound and put it back up for a simple conversation. This happens on a lot of missed shots in general. Burpo is thorough at cleaning up the boards on both ends and I'm sure we will continue to see that more and more moving into her Sophomore season with the Wolves.     The DCG Mustangs always seem to be in the hunt in their 4A Class every season. You can put that on the coaches, you can put on their system, you can put that on their players. They understand how to win when it matters and that's noteworthy. A young prospect for this group, that will be impactful over the reminder of her time on roster is [player_tooltip player_id='891985' first='Ava' last='Smid'] at the SF/CG position. Smid took the Varisty court last year by storm. She made noteworthy plays, she showed her worth each and every contest, all while being a great teammate to those around her. As of most recently, Smid received her first D1 offer to continue on her basketball journey following high school. Like we always say, this might be the first offer but it surely won't be her last. If she continues to get better in her overall game over the next 2-3 years, who knows who will come offering before things are said and done but for now, she drops into our Top 15 in this specific Update.     From a number perspective, [player_tooltip player_id='880906' first='Kalyn' last='Scamman'] of Shenandoah High School might not of jumped up to a higher number in these rankings but she has still been a stock-riser over the past six months with the collegiate interest she is currently bringing in. Scamman was offered by a D2 institution recently, while also getting her name mentioned by a few others in passing. Everyone is starting to notice that Scamman does the little things really well out on the floor and that's what you need to do if you want to play at the D1 or D2 level. She leads by example and is someone that those around her can believe in. Something that will take her a long way in this game in the end. As long as she stays dedicated.
