Our most recent update on the happenings with South Carolina's transfer portal was penned back in early July. Since then, we have gained a bit more information on a few names that will indeed be in new uniforms once the 2025-26 season tips off in November.

Without further ado, here is our latest update on which players will be suiting up for new teams as we continue to draw closer to the start of the season.

Moore has built an impressive profile for herself in the Upstate by virtue of her tenures with Travelers Rest and Greer – both currently 4A schools. Moore has decided to bring her talents to a Greenville team that is poised to be among the class of the 5A Division 2 field. Moore played in 22 games last season for the Yellow Jackets and averaged 10 points, 5.9 rebounds and a steal per contest. She is coming off an AAU campaign where she wore the [program_tooltip program_id='715412' first='SC' last='Eagles'] uniform. The Red Raiders have had one of the more successful offseasons in the state following its berth in last year's 5A Division 2 Upper State final and the team wants more in 2025-26.

During the offseason, coach Terence Jones – who led several of his Denmark-Olar teams to state championship games, stepped down from his Vikings post and became the new head coach at Chapin. This typically has a domino effect – including players deciding to leave. Wright is one of those players. She has also played volleyball throughout her career as an outside hitter and middle hitter. One of two that comprise what is now the Eagles' sister act, she is more the guard of the two. Wright played in 22 games last season with the Vikings and averaged 7.4 points, five steals and 3.9 rebounds.

The second half of what is now 5A Division 2 Chapin's sister act is more of an interior presence. Wright is advancing into her sophomore season and has a bit more high school experience on her resume than the typical 2028 given she first played at the varsity level in the eighth grade. In her freshman season at Denmark-Olar, she competed in 22 games. If she along with Coach Jones, brings the same winning basketball that Vikings fans have become accustomed to, the transfer of Wright to the Eagles has the potential to shake up the 5A Division 2 landscape.

Another Midlands school has also been active in the portal – a 4A school to be exact. Gartmon is moving from 4A Gilbert to a region rival of Gilbert – Gray Collegiate and coach Brandon Wallace to be exact. Gartmon is another who first played at the varsity level as an eighth grader and followed up a solid campaign two seasons ago with an impressive freshman season for Gilbert. She averaged 11 points, 3.7 rebounds and two steals a contest. Gartmon joins a War Eagles team that finished 17-7 last season and second in its region only behind eventual 4A champion North Augusta.

Gray Collegiate was also successful in landing a prospect east of its flagship campus. Britt joins the War Eagles after wearing the signature red of 5A Division 2 Westwood. Britt put together another impressive season on the AAU circuit with [program_tooltip program_id='783909' first='Palmetto' last='76ers/A'ja Wilson Elite']. Not only does she bolster a team's scoring output but its rebounding efforts as well. The immediate task for coach Brandon Wallace and his Gray Collegiate assembling appears straightforward – find a way to defeat North Augusta. Britt calling it a career as a Redhawk and taking flight with her new flock of War Eagles certainly aids in that objective.

Legion Collegiate has undergone plenty of change over the offseason between bringing in Angelia James as its new coach and its re-admission to the South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) – and loss of playoff eligibility for this season. McMurray has decided to move on and not only depart from Legion Collegiate, but depart from the state. McMurray will run with C3 Concord Christian School in North Carolina throughout the next several months for her senior season. She wore the One Force uniform throughout the spring and summer months of AAU ball and recently picked up an offer from Spartanburg Methodist College. She also had an offer from Mount Mary in Wisconsin. McMurray played in 33 games last season as a Lancer.
