Top Women’s Basketball Prospects from MD Super Scrimmage

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Saturday, Our Lady of Good Counsel held their annual Super Scrimmage that showcased twenty-three schools in the area. This annual event offers a welcome break. Athletes find relief from the relentless workouts and practices they have endured over the past month or two. They have proven to their coach they are ready for more playing time once the season starts.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The energy in the stands felt different today. All thirty-four games drew strong crowds, and the gym stayed full throughout. Casual parents were in the building. Basketball enthusiasts were also there. AAU coaches from programs like Powermove, Takeover, Durant, Thrill, Melo, and GLP attended too. They were all there to support their athletes.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As the energy shifted, so did the level of play from several athletes. She challenged every opponent that came her way. Vanesa's length is difficult to go around and harder to go over as she can get off the floor. Offensively, she can dribble in traffic as she showed great discipline breaking the press. Her energy is contagious, and she brings constant excitement to the floor. As a sophomore still developing, she's already someone fans will want to see every game. Zenai has inherited her mother's soft touch, a shot that will become dangerous once it's fully consistent. Today she demonstrated how her length and agility create problems. She can face up and jab or use a spin move to score through contact. On the defensive end, she contests everything and never stops running the floor. She has the ability to get to the basket in two dribbles.
